Geoffrey Doumayrou
Geoffrey Doumayrou (born 16 September 1989) is a French rugby union player. His position is in the Centre and he currently plays for Stade Rochelais in the Top 14. Doumayrou began his career at Montpellier Hérault in his hometown. He made his debut in January 2009 against Clermont Auvergne in the Top 14. He went on to make 59 appearances over the following four seasons scoring a total of 8 tries in the process. Doumayrou joined Stade Français ahead of the 2012-13 Top 14 season. He made over 100 appearances for the club scoring 25 tries in a five year period that saw them win the 2014–15 Top 14 and the European Challenge Cup in the 2016–17 season. European Challenge Cup
The EPCR Challenge Cup is an annual rugby union competition organised by European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR). It is the second-tier competition for clubs based in European leagues behind the European Rugby Champions Cup. The 2017–18 Top 14 competition is the 119th French domestic rugby union club competition operated by the Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR). Two new teams from the 2016–17 Pro D2 season were promoted to Top 14 (Oyonnax and Agen) in place of the two relegated teams, Grenoble and Bayonne. It marks the second time in a row that both promoted teams had returned on their first opportunity after relegation (Oyonnax and Agen were both relegated during the 2015–16 Top 14 season). 2016–17 European Rugby Challenge Cup
The 2016–17 European Rugby Challenge Cup was the third edition of the European Rugby Challenge Cup, an annual second-tier rugby union competition for professional clubs. Clubs from six European nations plus one Russian club competed. It was also the 21st season of the Challenge Cup competition in all forms, following on from the now defunct European Challenge Cup. Montpellier were the reigning champions, having beaten Harlequins in the final of the 2015–16 European Rugby Challenge Cup. They did not defend their title as they automatically qualified for the 2016–17 European Rugby Champions Cup as a result of the win. The first round of the group stage began on the weekend of 13/14/15/16 October 2016, and the competition ended with the final on 12 May 2017 in Edinburgh.
