Geoff Keith
Geoffrey Leyden Keith (19 November 1937 – 26 December 1975) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Somerset, Hampshire and Western Province. Somerset cricketer Born at Winchester, Hampshire, on 19 November 1937, Keith made his first-class debut for Somerset against Cambridge University in May 1959, scoring 40 in his first innings. He played only one further first-team match that year, but in 1960 was given a run of 10 matches in the first half of the season. But his highest score was only 48 in the match against Gloucestershire at Bath, and his bowling was not used at all. After three unsuccessful games in the early part of the 1961 season, he left Somerset at the end of the season and joined Hampshire for the 1962 season. Hampshire career In his first match for his new county, Keith scored 82 and 12 not out against Oxford University, but though it was a new highest score for him it was his only first-class match of the 1962 season. Roy Marshall
Roy Edwin Marshall (25 April 1930 – 27 October 1992) was a West Indian cricketer who played in four Tests from 1951 to 1952. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1959. Early career The son of a wealthy plantation owner, Marshall was born in Farmers Plantation, Saint Thomas, Barbados and made his first-class debut for Barbados in 1946 when only 15. He toured England with the West Indies in 1950, making 1,117 runs at an average just short of 40 runs per innings, though he did not play in any of the Tests. Move to England Marshall made his Test debut against Australia on 9 November 1951 at the Gabba, making 28 and 30. After three further Tests against Australia and New Zealand, Marshall was omitted from the West Indian side and moved to England in 1953 to qualify for Hampshire. ''Wisden Cricketers' Almanack'', or simply ''Wisden'', colloquially the Bible of Cricket, is a cricket reference book published annually in the United Kingdom. The County Championship (referred to as the LV= Insurance County Championship for sponsorship reasons) is the domestic first-class cricket competition in England and Wales and is organised by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). It became an official title in 1890. The competition consists of eighteen clubs named after, and representing historic counties, seventeen from England and one from Wales. The earliest known inter-county match was played in 1709. The CSA 4-Day Domestic Series is the domestic first class cricket competition of South Africa. The tournament is contested by teams from all nine provinces of South Africa. First contested as the Currie Cup from 1889–90, the tournament has undergone many changes and modifications in its history. In 2004, the traditional province based format was replaced, with many teams amalgamating. In its place six entirely professional franchises were created that represented much larger population areas. The competition underwent significant restructuring once again before the start of the 2021–22 season. The six team franchise system was disbanded and the tournament returned to its more traditional format. Keith Wheatley
Keith James Wheatley (born 20 January 1946) is a former English first-class cricketer. Wheatley was born at Guildford in January 1946. He was educated at Lord Wandsworth College, where he played for the college cricket team. Wheatley made his debut in first-class cricket for Hampshire against Leicestershire during the 1965 Bournemouth Cricket Week. He established himself in the Hampshire side in 1966, making 23 appearances. As an all-rounder, he took 31 wickets in 1966 at an average of 28.80; as a consequence of the Test and County Cricket Board introducing a 65 overs limit to the first innings of some matches, Wheatley did not bowl in the first innings of any restricted matches in 1966. With the bat in this season, he scored 441 runs at a batting average of 18.37. David Turner (cricketer)
David Roy Turner (born 5 February 1949) is a former English first-class cricketer who played for Hampshire County Cricket Club. He played 426 games between 1966 and 1989, making 19,005 runs at a batting average of 30.55 with 28 hundreds. David Turner played for Hampshire in 24 consecutive seasons, which, with the impact of the First World War on certain players, is the longest unbroken run in their history. He is also the only Hampshire cricketer to have been in sides that won the Championship, Sunday League and a Lord's Final. Hampshire were not the only county who sought to sign the promising young left-hander but he came to the county, making his first-class debut in August 1966, when just 17.
