Geo Super Football League
The Geo Super Football League or SFL is the first proper professional inter-city football league of Pakistan, with the support of the PFF. It was established in 2007 and is the first time that Pakistani club football matches are telecast live on television via GEO Super. The SFL runs separate to the Pakistan Premier League and at the moment, the winners of the SFL will not be declared the official champions of Pakistan like the PPL winners. In the inaugural season as well as the second season (2010), all matches were being played in Karachi's Peoples Football Stadium. Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is the governing body of association football in Pakistan. Founded in 1947, its headquarters are at the FIFA Football House in Lahore, Punjab (Pakistan), Punjab near Punjab Stadium. Asian Football Confederation
The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. It has 47 member countries most of which are located in Asia. Australia, formerly in Oceania Football Confederation, OFC, joined AFC in 2006. Geo Super is the first 24-hour Karachi-based Pakistani Television channel dedicated to the world of Sports. It is owned by the Jang Group of Newspapers. Geo Super was launched in September 2006. It has broadcasting rights for many sporting events such as Badminton, Cricket, Football, Hockey, and others. Launch In late September 2006, Geo Television Network launched Geo Super. Geo Super broadcasts sports events, focusing mainly on cricket, with secondary focuses on football and field hockey. The Pakistan Premier League (PPL; ur, پاکستان پریمیئر لیگ) is a Pakistani professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Pakistan football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Football Federation League. Peoples Football Stadium
The People's Football Stadium is a football stadium located in Lyari, a neighbourhood in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It is owned by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, formerly City District Government of Karachi. It has a capacity of 40,000. Geo Television Network is a television channel based in Pakistan. It was established in May 2002 and is owned by the Jang Media Group. The channel began its test transmission on 14 August 2002, with regular transmission beginning on 1 October 2002. History Geo Network was founded in May 2002 by Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman. It started out with the launch of its flagship channel Geo News in October 2002. Hamid Mir joined the channel and became one of the first journalists to join Geo News. He started hosting the political talk show Capital Talk which is the flagship show of Geo News. Arif Mehmood (born June 21, 1983) is a Pakistani former footballer who played as a striker. He has been the top-scorer in the Pakistan Premier League five times, leading the charts in 2004–05, 2006–07, 2007–08, 2009–10 and 2010–11. Early life Mehmood was born on 21 June 1983 in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. Muhammad Rasool
Muhammad Rasool (born May 23, 1985) is a Pakistani former footballer who played as a forward. Rasool won the league with K-Electric in 2014–15 season. Rasool finished season twice as the top scorer, first with Khan Research Laboratories in 2008–09 and with K-Electric 2014–15, scoring 22 goals in 26 games and 22 goals in 22 games respectively. Extra Time
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds.
