The Generation of Independence Party ( hy, Անկախության սերունդ) is an Armenian political party. The party was founded on 30 April 2021, and is led by Vanik Chaloyan. History The party was founded during the 2020–2021 Armenian protests and does not maintain any political representation within the National Assembly. The party currently acts as an extra-parliamentary force. The party had confirmed its intentions to participate in the 2021 Armenian parliamentary elections, but ultimately failed to register. Ideology The party seeks to build a strong state based on national ideology and state interests. The party's primary focus, however, is to create new opportunities for youth. The party believes in creating opportunities for development within the economic, education, science, cultural, and agriculture sectors in order to reduce the emigration of Armenia's youth. The Generation of Independence Party ( hy, Անկախության Սերունդ կուսակցություն) is an Armenian political party in Artsakh. History The Generation of Independence Party was established on 11 August 2018. Its founder and current party leader is Ruslan Israelyan. In August 2019, it was announced that Israelyan would run for the presidency of Artsakh during a party congress and that he would lead the party in the 2020 Artsakhian general election. Ideology The party advocates for the unification of Artsakh and Armenia, and the establishment of a United Armenia. Domestically, the party advocates for further economic development of Artsakh, respecting human and civil rights, improving education and fighting corruption. Name The party's name is taken from an Armenian heroic epic poem '' Daredevils of Sassoun'' (Sasna Tsrer in Armenian). The Hanrapetutyun Party ( hy, Հանրապետություն կուսակցություն, lit=Republic Party) is a pro-European political party in Armenia. The party was founded by ex-members from the Republican Party of Armenia and members of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union: Aram Sargsyan, Albert Bazeyan, Vagharshak Harutiunyan, Ara Ketikyan, among others, in April 2001. 2021 Armenian Parliamentary Election
Snap parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on 20 June 2021. The elections had initially been scheduled for 9 December 2023, but were called earlier due to a political crisis following the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War and an alleged attempted coup in February 2021. Nikol Pashinyan, who had served as Prime Minister since 2018, resigned in April 2021 and subsequently the seventh National Assembly was dissolved on 10 May. Pashinyan continued to serve as acting prime minister until the elections were held. Following the election, Pashinyan's Civil Contract party received 54% of the vote and won 71 seats, a majority in the 107-seat parliament. 2020–2021 Armenian Protests
The 2020−2021 Armenian protests (also known as the March of Dignity; hy, Արժանապատվության երթ, translit=Arzhanapatvut'yan yert') were a series of protests that began following the Nagorno-Karabakh ceasefire agreement on 10 November 2020.
