Gemas Railway Station
Gemas railway station is a Malaysian railway station located at the eastern side of and named after the town of Gemas, Tampin District, Negeri Sembilan. Built in 1922, the station is the meeting point of and the railway junction connecting the West Coast Line (Padang Besar–Singapore) with the East Coast Line (Tumpat–Gemas). As part of the Seremban–Gemas double tracking and electrification, the tracks were realigned and a new station building was built adjacent to the old station building. The old station building, platforms and a section of the railway tracks have been spared demolition and preserved. History The Gemas station was constructed sometime in 1922 as a hub for trains from Penang, Seremban, and Kuala Lumpur. The station also houses a railyard to store active motive power and rolling stock, the railyard also has another function as well: a scrapyard for old, broken down motive power and rolling stock to be scrapped off as cheap metal. Railway Electrification In Malaysia
Railway electrification in Malaysia is a relatively recent development of rail transport in Malaysia. While the first railway in the country dates back to 1885, it was not until 3 August 1995 that the first electrified railway service, KTM Komuter, began operations. The term "railway electrification" mainly refers to the project to electrify the Keretapi Tanah Melayu's West Coast Line from Padang Besar to Johor Bahru, combined with the duplication of the single-track line and the elimination of level crossings. As of November 2015, the stretch between Padang Besar and Gemas has been completed, with two electrified train services operating on the stretch: the KTM Komuter and the ETS. The KTM ETS (commercially known as ETS, short for 'Electric Train Service') is an inter-city rail passenger service operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) using electric multiple-unit (EMU) trains. The KTM ETS is the second electric train service to be operated by the Malaysian railway company, after the KTM Komuter service, and the second inter-city rail service, after KTM Intercity. Batang Melaka Railway Station
Batang Melaka railway station is a Malaysian train station named after the town of Batang Melaka, Jasin, Malacca. It is one of the only two stations, the other being Pulau Sebang/Tampin station, to serve the state of Malacca. A new station was constructed as part of the Seremban–Gemas Electrified Double Tracking Project and began operations on 7 February 2014, replacing an old station which closed in May 2012 and subsequently abandoned. The station was a stop for the KTM Intercity's Ekspres Selatan services from 2015 to 2021. Between 10 October 2015 and June 2016, Keretapi Tanah Melayu operated the KTM Komuter under the Seremban Line through this station, and it was a stop for the Southern Shuttle service between and , before the line was cut short to Pulau Sebang/Tampin. Tanjung Malim, or Tanjong Malim, is a town in Muallim District, Perak, Malaysia. It is approximately north of Kuala Lumpur and 120 km south of Ipoh via the North–South Expressway. It lies on the Perak-Selangor state border, with Sungai Bernam serving as the natural divider. Batu Caves ( ta, பத்து மலை : Pathumalai) is a mogote (a type of karst landform) that has a series of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Malay word ''batu'', meaning 'rock'. The hill was originally known as ''Kapal Tanggang'' from the legend of Si Tanggang.
