Gel Ey Seher
"Gel Ey Seher" is a song composed by Polad Bulbuloghlu, based on a poem by Fikrat Goja. It was especially popular in the late 1960s and early 1970s and helped launch Polad's career as a pop star. Polad Bulbuloghlu, Azerbaijan's former Ministry of Culture, today Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Russia and was once one of the Soviet Union's most famous pop singers. In 1998, Paul Buckmaster was commissioned by Turkish record label Muzikotek, on behalf of Okan Tapan, a Turkish businessman who has a special interest in the song Gel Ey Seher, to arrange a new version of the song for Polad Bulbuloghlu. Buckmaster was asked by Muzikotek to suggest an author to write an English adaptation of the lyrics. He suggested Roxanne Seeman, who wrote the English lyrics "Come Back To Me", which appear in the artwork of the CD release. Polad Bülbüloğlu
Polad Bulbuloghlu ( az, Polad Bülbüloğlu; born February 4, 1945) is a Soviet and Azerbaijani singer, actor, politician, and diplomat. Bulbuloghlu became famous in the Soviet Union with composing jazz-influenced pop songs which has heavy Azerbaijani folk feelings in Azerbaijani and Russian languages. He also sang his own songs. Three of his songs became Songs of the Year and he received numerous prestigious awards in the Soviet Union. Bulbuloghlu is a lyrical tenor. In the late 1990s, despite having a huge success with a new version arranged by Paul Buckmaster of his old song ''Gəl Ey Səhər'' (''Come, Hey Morning!'') in Turkey and sold-out concerts in Russia, Bulbuloghlu started a political career. Mehmet Fatih Erkoç (born 7 April 1953) is a Turkish jazz and pop music singer and composer. Biography Fatih Erkoç is the son of Hasan Erkoç, an oud musician. Şebnem Ferah (born 12 April 1972) is a Turkish singer, songwriter, composer, and guitarist. She was the lead vocalist of the all-female hard rock band Volvox until 1994, after which she went on to pursue an illustrious solo career. Her music style varies from pop rock to hard rock though her later albums have progressively incorporated more of the hard rock sound. Fikrat Goja ( az, Fikrət Qoca, 25 August 1935 – 5 May 2021) was an Azerbaijani poet. He was honored as a People's Poet of Azerbaijan in 1998. Early life and education Goja was born in Agdash. He attended Maxim Gorky Literature Institute of Moscow, graduating in 1964. "The Woman Who Couldn't Find Words" was Goja's first published poem. Goja described it as "about a woman who was surprised about everything all of the time. She couldn't understand the things that were going on in the world around her." Arif Haji oglu Babayev ( az, Arif Hacı oğlu Babayev) was an Azerbaijani film director and Honorary Art Worker of the Azerbaijan SSR (1964).
