Gaza Governorate
The Gaza Governorate ( ar, محافظة غزة '), also alternatively known as Gaza City Governorate, is one of the 16 Governorates of Palestine, located in the north central Gaza Strip. Gaza is claimed by the State of Palestine, but the land is under the control of the Hamas, while its border with Israel, airspace and maritime territory are controlled by the Israel Defense Forces. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the district's population was 505,700 in 2006. All of its seats were won by Hamas members in the 2006 parliamentary elections. It is governed by Mohammed Qadoura. The governorate consists of one city, three towns and a number of refugee camps. Palestinian Central Bureau Of Statistics
The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS; ar, الجهاز المركزي للإحصاء الفلسطيني) is the official statistical institution of the State of Palestine. Its main task is to provide credible statistical figures at the national and international levels. It is a state institution that provides service to the governmental, non – governmental and private sectors in addition to research institutions and universities. It is established as an independent statistical bureau. The PCBS publishes the ''Statistical Yearbook of Palestine'' and the ''Jerusalem Statistical Yearbook'' annually. The head office of the agency is in Ein Munjed Quarter, Ramallah. Activities Besides general statistics, such as the Retail Price Index, the PCBS also carries out special projects. Hamas (, ; , ; an acronym of , "Islamic Resistance Movement") is a Palestinian Sunni-Islamic fundamentalist, militant, and nationalist organization. Al-Zahra ( ar, الزهراء) is a Palestinian municipality in the Gaza Governorate, south of Gaza, in the central Gaza Strip. It's the home of the University of Palestine, and Ummah Open University. Juhor Ad-Dik
Juhor ad-Dik ( ar, جحر الديك) is a Palestinian village in the Gaza Governorate, south of Gaza City, in the central Gaza Strip. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), the village had a population of 3,200 inhabitants in 2006. In the 1997 census by the PCBS, Palestinian refugees made up 72.3% of the population which at the time was 2,275. Thirteen residents, including at least two children were killed and 18 others wounded, some seriously, when Israeli tanks fired on a mosque and two houses at the village on April 16, 2008. During Israel's invasion of the Gaza Strip in 2008-09, Israeli troops and Palestinian militiamen battled frequently in Juhor ad-Dik. |

Al-Mughraqa ( ar, المغراقة, also known as Abu Middein) is a Palestinian town in the Gaza Governorate of the Gaza Strip, located six kilometers southwest of Gaza City.
