The GLBTQ+ Asian Pacific Alliance (formerly the Gay Asian Pacific Alliance), sometimes GAPA, is a 501(c)(4) non-profit social welfare organization that was incorporated in February 1988 in San Francisco, San Francisco, California, as a social support group for gay and bisexual Asian Pacific American, Asian Pacific Islander (API) men. GALA Choruses
The Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses ("GALA Choruses") is an international association of LGBT choruses founded in 1982. In its inaugural performance 14 choruses performed together in September 1982 in San Francisco as part of the first Gay Games. It aims to foster artistic and organizational development within its member choruses. The association includes almost 10,000 vocalists in over 100 associated choruses singing as male, female and mixed ensembles in a wide variety of styles. GALA Choruses produces a large festival every four years, in addition to a number of smaller annual workshops and conferences. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors is the legislative body within the government of the City and County of San Francisco. Edwin Mah Lee (Chinese: 李孟賢; May 5, 1952 – December 12, 2017) was an American politician and attorney who served as the 43rd Mayor of San Francisco from 2011 until his death. He was the first Asian American to hold the office. Born in Seattle to Chinese-American parents, Lee was a member of the Democratic Party.
