Gary Tanin
Gary Tanin (born Gary Stefan Tanin, 19 September 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is a veteran Milwaukee musician/producer/engineer with a career spanning decades and reflecting two central themes: music and technology. Biography At age 16, Tanin had already laid the foundation for his calling when he landed a record deal with Odessa Records, recording his original material. While attending the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee during the early 70s, Tanin apprenticed as an audio engineer at ARCO Recording Studios where he studied the Art and Science of audio recording and production. In the mid 70s he released the critically acclaimed, self-produced concept album ''Otto & The Elevators''. In the early 80s he foresaw the unique possibility of combining newly emerging computer technology with music. He produced dozens of artists during the 70s and 80s. Genesis (band)
Genesis are an English rock band formed at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, in 1967. The band's most commercially successful line-up consisted of keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford and drummer/singer Phil Collins. The 1970s line-up, featuring singer Peter Gabriel and guitarist Steve Hackett, was among the pioneers of progressive rock. The group were formed by five Charterhouse pupils, including Banks, Rutherford, Gabriel, and Anthony Phillips, and named by former Charterhouse pupil Jonathan King, who arranged for them to record several singles and their debut album ''From Genesis to Revelation'' in 1968. After splitting from King, the band began touring, signed with Charisma Records and became a progressive rock band on ''Trespass'' (1970). Victor DeLorenzo (born October 25, 1954) is an American musician, actor and filmmaker who was the founding drummer for the folk-punk band Violent Femmes. Biography DeLorenzo was born in 1954, the son of Victor and Charlotte DeLorenzo, grew up in Racine, Wisconsin, and has lived in Milwaukee since. He has been a drummer since the age of 16, while attending St. Catherine's High School (Racine, Wisconsin), and has been an actor since the age of five. While attending the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, he auditioned for and was accepted into Theatre X in 1976, and worked with them in various roles for more than 20 years. As a drummer, DeLorenzo paired up with bassist Brian Ritchie in 1980, as a rhythm section they called "Violent Femmes". When singer, guitarist, and songwriter Gordon Gano joined them in 1981, the band kept the name. DeLorenzo's father loaned the band $10,000 to record their eponymous debut album in 1982.
