''The Boston Globe'' called her one of the city’s “trailblazing female restaurateurs in an era when they were few and far between.” Larson was partners with Jody Adams in opening Rialto in Harvard Square. With Gary Sullivan, she owned Rocca in the South End of Boston. Tiffani Faison was the executive chef when it closed. With Gary Sullivan and Karen Haskell, she was a principal of the Sapphire Restaurant Group. Jody Adams (chef)
Jody Adams (born c. 1956/1957) is an American chef and restaurateur. Adams owns and operates TRADE and Porto in Massachusetts. She was owner and executive chef of Rialto in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for over 20 years. In 1997, she won the James Beard Award for Best Chef in America Northeast. Early life and education Jody Adams was raised in New England. Adams grew up eating New England cuisine, prepared by her mother. Adams attended Brown University, majoring in anthropology. While attending Brown, Adams worked at a cooking school owned by Nancy Verde Barr in Providence, Rhode Island. Adams enjoyed working in the kitchen at the cooking school more than attending college. Rialto (restaurant)
Rialto was a restaurant in Harvard Square’s Charles Hotel owned by Jody Adams and Michela Larson. Opened in 1994, it closed on June 22, 2016. Originally, it was announced she would leave the restaurant in the hands of executive chef David Ladner but it was later announced it would close down. The South End is a neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. It is bordered by Back Bay, Chinatown, and Roxbury. Tiffani Faison is an American celebrity chef and restaurateur. She is based in Boston, has served as a judge on Food Network's television series Chopped, and is a four-time James Beard Award Finalist for Best Chef: Northeast (2018, 2019, 2020, 2022).
