Gary Marks (golfer)
Gary Marks (born 25 December 1963) is an English professional golfer. Career Amateur Marks earned his first European Tour start at the 1981 Martini International and made his first cut a month later at the Greater Manchester Open, aged seventeen and still an amateur. He turned professional in 1983. Professional He managed to get his European Tour card at Qualifying School, but a freak accident during the off season prior to taking up his European Tour membership stopped him from being able to play the next season, and the chance to play on the European Tour eluded him. In 1994, upon visiting relatives of his future wife in Poland, it just so happened that the Polish Open were on the same week. Marks joined and went on to win it, in the process earning a spot at the 1995 and 1996 Sarazen World Open, an unofficial PGA Tour event held near Atlanta, Georgia where winners of national open golf championships around the world were invited to play. Sidmouth
Sidmouth () is a town on the English Channel in Devon, South West England, southeast of Exeter. The 1996 Challenge Tour was the eighth season of the Challenge Tour, the official development tour to the European Tour. The tour started as the Satellite Tour with its first Order of Merit rankings in 1989 and was officially renamed as the Challenge Tour at the start of the 1990 season. The Challenge Tour Rankings were won by England's Ian Garbutt. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 1996 season. Unofficial events The following events were sanctioned by the Challenge Tour, but did not carry official money, wins were still official however. Chris Williams (golfer)
Christopher Gary Williams (born 20 March 1959) is an English-born golfer who currently lives in South Africa. Williams has won seven times on the Sunshine Tour. Professional career Williams was born in Liverpool, England. He moved to Johannesburg, South Africa shortly before turning professional in 1978. He joined the Sunshine Tour in 1985, and won his first title; the Lexington PGA Championship, during his debut season. He has won six more events on the Sunshine Tour since then. Williams joined the European Senior Tour on turning 50, having secured conditional playing rights at the 2008 qualifying school. He won for the first time as a senior in March 2011 at the Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters. The WINSTONgolf Senior Open is a men's senior (over 50) professional golf tournament on the European Senior Tour. It has been held since 2012 at WINSTONgolf, Vorbeck in Northern Germany. From 2012 to 2015 it was played on the Open course while from 2016 to 2018 it was held on the Links course. The event returned to the Open course in 2019.
