Gariahat Road connects Ballygunge Phari with Prince Anwar Shah Road and Raja SC Mullick Road near Jadavpur Police station in the southern part of Kolkata, India. The space under Gariahat Flyover hosts one of the most prominent open air public chess playing areas in Kolkata. Southern Avenue (Kolkata)
Southern Avenue, now renamed Dr. Meghnad Saha Sarani, is an avenue in South Kolkata connecting Gol Park with Kalighat. It falls under the Ballygunge area. It is a road with a centre boulevard that runs from Gariahat Road on the east to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road on the west, crossing Sarat Bose Road-Deboki Kumar Bose Sarani (near Rabindra Sarobar Stadium) on its way. Rashbehari Avenue
Rashbehari Avenue (earlier known as Main Sewer Road or Ballygunge Avenue) is one of the most prestigious and important east–west avenues of Kolkata, India. A major portion of this road is often commonly referred to as Gariahat Road, Gariahat, the prime shopping and aristocratic residential neighbourhood of south Kolkata. Ballygunge Circular Road
Ballygunge Circular Road which was renamed as Promotesh Barua Sarani , after the legendary actor and doyen of Bengali Cinema, is one of the most important roads which runs through the upscale part of Ballygunge in South Kolkata. It starts near the Ballygunge Science College right off Gariahat Road, passing through landmarks like Tripura House, St Lawrence High School etc. before meeting Gurusaday Dutta Road about a mile up the road. Raja SC Mullick Road
Gariahat Road becomes Raja SC Mullick road from the intersection of Prince Anwar Shah Road Connector and traverses mainly through Jadavpur and then the inner parts of South Kolkata and ends at Garia, where it meets the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Road. Prince Anwar Shah Road
Prince Anwar Shah Road is a busy road of South Kolkata. It is named after Prince Gulam Mohammed Anwar Ali Shah, one of Tipu Sultan's 12 sons. Localities In the aftermath of the death of Tipu Sultan, during the battle of Mysore, the then British rulers threw all twelve sons of Tipu into prison at Vellore. Suspecting that they had powered an abortive rebellion in Vellore jail they were moved to another prison in Calcutta in 1807.
