The Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs football program is the intercollegiate American football team for Gardner–Webb University in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and are members of the Big South Conference. Gardner–Webb's first football team was fielded in 1970. Tre Lamb
Tre’ Lamb (born September 16, 1989) is an American football coach and former player who is currently the head coach at Gardner–Webb University. He previously served as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech and Mercer. Lamb played a role in the turnaround of a struggling Tennessee Tech football program. Tre Lamb and his wife, Carter Lamb, are celebrating the recent birth of his daughter, Olivia Lamb. Playing career Lamb was a three-year starting quarterback for Tennessee Tech. In 2011, he led the Golden Eagles to their first Ohio Valley Conference championship victory in 36 years. That same year, he helped the Golden Eagles break 9 program records including points scored in a season (355), highest scoring average in a season (32.3 points per game), and most first downs in a season (238). James Madison Dukes Football
The James Madison Dukes football program represents James Madison University in the sport of American football. The Dukes compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as a member of the Sun Belt Conference (SBC), beginning play within the conference for the 2022 season. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. Gabriel Nicholas Wilkins (born January 9, 1971) is a former American Football defensive end who played for the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers in a six-year career that lasted from 1994 to 1999 in the National Football League. Bobby Leroy Hopkins (June 8, 1957 – July 5, 2019) was an American football offensive guard who played one season for the Tampa Bay Bandits of the United States Football League (USFL). 2022 William & Mary Tribe Football Team
The 2022 William & Mary Tribe football team represented the College of William & Mary as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) during the 2022 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Tribe, led by fourth-year head coach Mike London, played their home games at Zable Stadium.
