Gao Yumeng
Gao Yumeng (; born April 13, 2001) is a Chinese pair skater. With her skating partner, Xie Zhong, she is the 2017 World Junior bronze medalist and 2017 Chinese national bronze medalist on the senior level. Early career Gao began learning to skate in 2008. During the 2015–2016 season, she competed in partnership with Li Bowen. Competing on the senior level, they finished 5th at the 2016 Chinese Championships. They placed 7th at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics, held in February in Hamar, Norway, and 13th at the 2016 World Junior Championships, held in March in Debrecen, Hungary. The pair was coached by Luan Bo, Song Lun, and Li Yinwei in Harbin, China. Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". The 2016–17 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 20th season of a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the 2016–17 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters competed for medals in the disciplines of men's single skating, singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance, as well as for qualifying points. The top six skaters or teams from each discipline met at the 2016–17 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, 2016–17 Junior Grand Prix Final, which was held together with the senior final. The 2016 World Junior Figure Skating Championships were held from 14–20 March 2016 in Debrecen, Hungary. Commonly called "World Juniors" and "Junior Worlds", the event determined the World Junior champions in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Anna Dušková / Martin Bidař and Daniel Samohin became the first World Junior champions in figure skating from the Czech Republic and Israel, respectively.
