Galato Alexandraki
Galato "Toula" Alexandraki (; born 11 December 1948) is a Greek member of the European Parliament for the Greek Solution party. Biography Alexandraki was born in Didymoteicho and raised in Koufovouno, Evros, where she lived as a livestock farmer until the 1990s. She then relocated to Alexandroupolis and established a butcher's shop, which she continues to run with her son. Her election result was a major surprise, given that she was virtually unknown not only in the Evros prefecture, where she stood, but also in Alexandroupolis, where she resides and works. Despite not conducting any election campaign, she secured 51,237 votes and came second on the Hellenic Solution ballot paper. Kyriakos Velopoulos, the party leader, stated that Alexandraki was included on the ballot at the request of local farmers. Kyriakos Velopoulos ( el, Κυριάκος Ιωσήφ Βελόπουλος; born 24 October 1965) is a Greek politician and Hellenic Parliament member and Greek Solution party leader, as well as television personality and author. Afroditi Latinopoulou (; born 29 April 1991) is a Greek politician, founder and leader of the far-right Voice of Reason. She was elected as Member of the European Parliament in 2024 European Parliament election. Life Afroditi Latinopoulou was born on 29 April 1991 in Thessaloniki. Her maternal roots are in Evros, a region where she received the highest percentage of votes in the European elections. She was the first child in a family of secondary school teachers. From a young age, she was involved in tennis, a sport in which she won 15 Greek championships and 4 European championships. In 2010, she was ranked 1067th by the Women's Tennis Association. Fredis Beleris
Dionysios-Fredis Beleris (; born 9 August 1972) is an ethnically Greek politician from Albania who was elected mayor of Himarë. Beleris was elected mayor in the 2023 local elections as candidate of the Together We Win political coalition, an office he did not take after being arrested a few days earlier for vote buying. His arrest mobilized both the Greek community in Albania and the Greek government, which accused the Albanian authorities of attempting to hinder the political activities of Albania's Greek minority. In the trial that followed, he was sentenced to two years in prison; as a result of the conviction, Albania's Central Electoral Commission declared Beleris's mandate invalid, and decided to hold new elections. June 2023 Greek Legislative Election
Snap parliamentary elections were held in Greece on 25 June 2023. All 300 seats in the Hellenic Parliament were contested. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis called for the snap vote after the May 2023 Greek legislative election, May 2023 elections did not result in any party gaining a majority, although his centre-right New Democracy (Greece), New Democracy made unanticipated gains and increased its share of the vote. As a result, no coalition government was formed by any of the parties eligible to do so. In contrast to the May elections, the June vote used a majority bonus system, making a majority government more likely. On 25 May 2023, as required by Greece's constitution, President Katerina Sakellaropoulou appointed Ioannis Sarmas as caretaker prime minister until the formation of the next government following the elections.
