Malak Gaju Khan Yousafzai ( ps, ګجو خان بابا), also spelled Gajju Khan or Gajo Khan Yousafzai, Popularly known as Khan Al Khawanin or ""Khan of Khans", was a Pashtun Ruler and military commander from Yousafzai chieftaincy. He is often seen as a founding chief of the tribe. His tomb is in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Early Life Gaju Khan, a notable figure from the Mandanr branch of the famous Pashtun Yusufzai tribe, was born in 1490 in the house of Malik Qarakhan, son of Malik Behzad Sadozai, in Kabul. His family was well-known for its power and wealth. Gaju Khan lost his father at a young age, and his education and upbringing were overseen by his mother, Monda Bibi, who paid special attention to his religious and worldly learning. Monda Bibi also introduced him to the art of warfare. She was known throughout Afghanistan at the time as a virtuous, and devout woman. Legacy The Gajju Khan Medical College Swabi is named after him. Malak Ahmad Khan Yusufzai
Malak Ahmad Khan Yusufzai (1460–1530) also known as Malak Ahmad Baba was an Afghan chief and warrior. He belonged to the Razar Mandanr clan of the Yousafzai. Ahmad Khan's life was spent in fighting and resettling the Yusufzai in modern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The Yusufzai fought the Dilazak and Sultan Awais Swati for control of northern KPK. The Dilzaks had initially given refuge to the Yusufzai before they were driven out by them. After being expelled, Malak Ahmad Khan replaced his uncle Malak Suleiman Shah as the chief of the Yusufzai. Through Bibi Mubarika marriage to Babur, the Yusufzai finally made peace with the Mughals and were able to establish their stronghold in Dir, Swat, Buner, Malakand, Swabi and Mardan with Thana, Malakand as the capital. Kalu Khan Yousafzai
Kalu Khan Yusufzai ( Pashto: کالو خان یوسفزئی) was an Afghan warrior and military leader in 16th century who inflicted one of the greatest defeats of the Mughal Empire. He is known for leading the Yusufzai Rebellion against Mughals at the Karakar Pass in which Prominent Mughal commanders including Raja Birbal was killed by Yousafzai tribesman in 1586 during the Afghan-Mughal Wars Yousafzai Revolt Following Mullah Meru's defeat and death in 1581 A.D., the Mughals decimated the whole Yousafzai tribe, and Kalu Khan made the decision to assume charge of bringing the Yousafzai organisation and unity back. Aimal Khan Mohmand (), also known as Aimal Shah (), was a prominent 17th century Afghan ruler, military commander, and chief, who proclaimed himself king and declared the holy war (Jihad) against the Mughal empire. Yusufzai
The Yusufzai or Yousafzai ( ps, یوسفزی, ), also referred to as the Esapzai (, ) are one of the largest Pashtun tribes, tribes of ethnic Pashtuns. They are natively based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, to which they migrated to from Suliman mountains during the 16th century, but they are also present in smaller numbers in parts of Afghanistan, including Kunar Province, Kunar, Kabul, Kandahar and Farah Province, Farah. Mandanr
The Mandanr, Mandar, or Mandan are a Pashtun tribe, branch of Yusufzai. They are the children of Mand, who was the son of Umar baba. Umar Baba was the brother of Yousaf, Umar left the tribe and moved from Kandahar to Hassanabdal. An Arab Quraysh family in Hassanabdal gave their daughter to Omar in marriage. Omar had a son from an Arab girl which they named Mandanr. When Mandanr was one year old, Omar Baba died. Upon hearing the news of his death, Yusuf left Kandahar and went to Hassan Abdal. He took his sister-in-law to Kandahar. According to the Pakhtun tradition, he married the widow of Umar Baba and gave Mandanr his daughter in marriage.
