Gajalu
Gajalu ( ne, गाँजलु) is a Nepali movie that depicts the life of living goddess Kumari after her retirement. Shristi Shrestha plays the role of Sujata Shakya, a former Kumari. The movie is about her friendship with her six friends who happen to change her life. This movie is partly inspired by novel named Half Girlfriend by Chetan Bhagat. The film was produced by Rohit Adhikari Films in association with BC Motion Pictures. The screenplay of the movie was written by Hem Raj BC. and the music was composed by Hercules Basnet, Kali Parsad Baskot and Jaing. The movie was released on जेठ २८, २०७३/ June 10, 2016. Gajalu is the story of a former Kumari who figures her way out of the traditional dogmas after meeting a group of friends, and starts living an independent life then after. Shristi Shrestha ( ne, श्रीस्टी श्रेष्ठ, ), is a Nepalese model, actress and the winner of the Miss Nepal World 2012 pageant. She works in Nepali cinema. Career Miss Nepal Shrestha represented her hometown of Chitwan during Miss Nepal 2012 beauty pageant as Miss Chitwan 2012. She went on to win the main title of Miss Nepal World 2012 along with the Miss Confidence title. She is the first Miss Nepal to reach the quarter-finals (20th Place) of the Miss World. Surya Kumar Neupane (born 1987) known professionally as Uttam Neupane, is a Nepali sound mixer. He is the recipient of the 5th National Film Award of Nepal for Best Sound mixing for the feature film ''Mero Euta Saathi Chha''. Kumari (goddess)
Kumari, or Kumari Devi, or the Living Goddess, is the tradition of worshipping a chosen virgin as manifestations of the divine female energy or Shakti in Dharmic religious traditions. It is believed that the girl is possessed by the goddess Taleju or Durga. The word ''Kumari'' is derived from Sanskrit meaning princess.
