Gaelcholáiste
A Gaelcholáiste is a secondary school on the island of Ireland (in either the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland) located outside Gaeltacht areas, where Irish is the primary language of teaching and communication. Gaelcholáistí are supported and represented on a practical day-to-day basis by Gaeloideachas (who also support Irish-medium schools in the Gaeltacht) and An Chomhairle um Oideachas Gaeltachta & Gaelscolaíochta (whose name translates into English as "The Council for Gaeltacht and Gaelscoileanna Education") or COGG in the Republic and by Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta in the North. There are 31 Gaelcholáistí and 17 second-level Irish language units (''aonaid Ghaeilge'') on the island of Ireland, attended by over 12,000 students. Gaelcholáiste Chéitinn
Gaelcholáiste Chéitinn () is a gaelcholáiste (Irish language-medium second-level school) that teaches students from the Clonmel area in County Tipperary in Ireland. Part of the Central Technical Institute (CTI) on the Mall, the Gaelcholáiste is one of the CTI's three education identities (the others being the secondary school, Coláiste Chluain Meala, and CTI Senior College of Further Education), all three of which fall under the auspices of the Tipperary Education and Training Board (ETB). The Gaelcholáiste Dhoire is a multi-denominational, 11–19, all-ability, coeducational, Irish-medium, post-primary school in Dungiven, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Dungiven Castle
Dungiven Castle, in Dungiven, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, is the historic seat of the Anglo-Irish Ogilby family dating back to the 17th century, although most of the current building dates from the 1830s. Following a mixed history, which saw it hosting housing the US Army during World War II, and later being used as a dance hall during the 1950s and 1960s, the castle fell into such a state of disrepair that the local council decided to demolish it. Coláiste Ailigh
Coláiste Ailigh in County Donegal, Ireland, is a Gaelcholáiste (a secondary school offering a curriculum taught through the Irish language). Formerly located at Sprackburn House in Letterkenny, it opened in 2000, becoming the VEC's third All-Irish School. Pupils from the surrounding areas of Carrigart, Termon and Strabane also enrolled in the school. The Government of Ireland allowed it to build a new school in 2008; this was completed by November 2013. It includes a gym, sport hall, cafeteria and full-sized Gaelic football pitch. Coláiste an Phiarsaigh is a coeducational voluntary secondary school in Glanmire, Cork. Irish is the language of instruction and all pupils and teachers are expected to converse in Irish. The school is free for day pupils and fee-paying for boarders, though some bursaries are available. Gaedhealachas Teoranta established the school in 1973. it is named after Patrick Pearse, an Irish revolutionary and Gaelic revivalist.
