Buynaksk (russian: Буйна́кск; kum, Шура / Темирхан-Шура, ''Şura / Temirxan-Şura'') is a town in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, located at the foothills of the Greater Caucasus on the Shura-Ozen River, southwest of the republic's capital Makhachkala. ''Taekwondo'', ''Tae Kwon Do'' or ''Taekwon-Do'' (; ko, 태권도/跆拳道 ) is a Korean form of martial arts involving punching and kicking techniques, with emphasis on head-height kicks, spinning jump kicks, and fast kicking techniques. The literal translation for tae kwon do is "kicking", "punching", and "the art or way of". They are a kind of martial arts in which one attacks or defends with hands and feet anytime or anywhere, with occasional use of weapons. The men's +80 kg competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics was held on 11 August, at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Competition format The main bracket consisted of a single elimination tournament, culminating in the gold medal match. Two bronze medals were awarded at the Taekwondo competitions. A repechage was used to determine the bronze medal winners. Every competitor who lost to one of the two finalists competed in the repechage, another single-elimination competition. Each semifinal loser faced the last remaining repechage competitor from the opposite half of the bracket in a bronze medal match. François Coulombe-Fortier (born November 15, 1984) is a Canadian taekwondo practitioner. In 2011 Coulombe-Fortier won a bronze medal at the 2011 Pan American Games and later in the year followed up by winning a silver medal at the Pan American Olympic qualification tournament, and by doing so qualified to compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Five Directions of the World (russian: link=no, Пять сторон света) is a martial arts school in Dagestan, Russia. It provides both formal education as well as training in martial arts. History Gusein Magomaev was an artist who graduated from Dzhemal Dagestan Art School and moved to Moscow for his career. When he was young, he saw a book about Chinese martial arts which led him to be involved in Martial arts. During his career as an artist, he was heavily involved in the art of Karate. In early 1982, there were crackdowns on martial arts for political reasons so Magomaev and his wife, Olga relocated back to Dagestan in 1984. The basis for Five Directions of the World came in 1984 from Magomaev and his wife. It was originally an arts studio based on ideas around Chinese Wushu.
