Gabriel Dyck
Gabriel Dyck (born July 21, 1999) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. He is currently the lead of the Alberta Golden Bears men's curling team in university curling and on the World Curling Tour. Curling career Dyck won two provincial U18 championships, in 2016 and 2018. Dyck played second along with Ryan Jacques, Zachary Pawliuk, and Michael Henricks at the 2016 U18 International Curling Championships in Edmonton, AB. Dyck, at second, again represented Alberta at the 2018 Canadian U18 Championships in St. Andrews, New Brunswick along with Ryan Jacques, Dustin Mikush and Michael Henricks. Team Alberta earned a spot in the final by defeating defending U18 national champion, Northern Ontario, skipped by Jacob Horgan. Alberta earned the Silver Medal, losing to Nova Scotia, skipped by Graeme Weagle. Dyck was awarded the Fair Play Award, voted on by the event officials, at the Championship. Colton Flasch
Colton Flasch (born February 27, 1991) is a Canadian curler from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He currently plays third on Team Mike McEwen. Career Juniors After having curled with the Mike Armstrong junior rink, Flasch joined the Braeden Moskowy rink at second position in 2010. The team won the Saskatchewan Junior championships that year, earning the rink the right to represent Saskatchewan at the 2011 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. At the Canadian Juniors, the team- which also included Kirk Muyres and Matt Lang- went undefeated (12-0) through the round robin, and proceeded to win the event by defeating Ontario's Mathew Camm in the final. The team would go on to represent Canada at the 2011 World Junior Curling Championships where they would find less success. The team found themselves in 4th place after the round robin with a 6–3 record. Joel Krats (born January 7, 2002) is a Canadian curler originally from Newfoundland and Labrador. He currently plays third for the James Grattan rink in the World Curling Tour. Career In 2018, Joel Krats competed at the national-eligible age group for the first time. He had departed from his previous Labrador squad and moved over to the Gander Curling Club to join and skip for the two-time defending U16 Newfoundland & Labrador Provincial Champions; the Ethan Davidge rink. His first event was competing in the 2018 U21 Newfoundland & Labrador Provincial Championship where he finished in last place with an 0–4 record. Ryan McNeil Lamswood (born March 19, 2000) is a Canadian curler from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. He currently skips his own team on the World Curling Tour. Career McNeil Lamswood competed in five Canadian Junior Curling Championships in his junior career in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020. His best result came in 2020 playing third for Daniel Bruce with Joel Krats at second and Nathan King at lead. The team finished the round robin and championship pool with an 8–2 record, which qualified them for the playoffs. They defeated Rylan Kleiter of Saskatchewan in the semifinal before coming up short to Jacques Gauthier's Manitoba rink in the final. It was the first time since 2011 that Newfoundland and Labrador qualified for the playoffs. 2020 Canadian Junior Curling Championships
The 2020 New Holland Canadian Junior Curling Championships was held from January 18 to 26 at the Langley Curling Centre and the George Preston Recreation Centre in Langley, British Columbia. The winners represented Canada at the 2020 World Junior Curling Championships in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. In the women's final, Mackenzie Zacharias and her rink of Karlee Burgess, Emily Zacharias and Lauren Lenentine out of the Altona Curling Club in Altona, Manitoba capped off a perfect 11–0 record defeating Alberta's Abby Marks rink 10–3 including a score of four in the eighth end. It was a third championship win for Burgess as she also won the title in 2016 and 2018. In the men's final, Jacques Gauthier and his team of Jordan Peters, Brayden Payette and Zack Bilawka curling out of the Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba defeated Newfoundland's Daniel Bruce rink 8–6 to make it an all Manitoba sweep in both the men's and women's events.
