''Global Underground 009: Sasha, San Francisco'' is a DJ mix album in the Global Underground series, compiled and mixed by Sasha. It was released on 9 November 1998 through the label Boxed in the UK, and Thrive in the US, where the release was numbered 003. "Hale Bopp" (Disc 2, Track 3 in UK release) is omitted, reducing the number of tracks on the US version to 26. In a 2019 poll conducted on Global Underground's website, the album was voted the second-best in the series, behind Sasha's own '' Global Underground 013: Ibiza''. Xpander EP
''Xpander'' is an extended play (EP) by Welsh DJ Sasha. It was released on 5 July 1999 through Deconstruction Records, and features co-production from Charlie May, Andy Page and Gaëtan Schurrer. The EP charted on release, peaking at number 18 on the UK Albums Chart. In 1999, the EP won an award at the International Dance Music Awards for "Best Techno/Trance 12"". Background The title track, "Xpander", was featured on compilations such as '' Global Underground: Ibiza'', Pete Tong's ''Essential Selection'', Hooj Choons' ''Nu Progressive Era'', and many other DJ mix compilations. Mixtape
A mixtape (alternatively mix-tape, mix tape or mixed tape) is a compilation of music, typically from multiple sources, recorded onto a medium. With origins in the 1980s, the term normally describes a homemade compilation of music onto a cassette tape, CD, or digital playlist. The songs are either ordered sequentially or made into a continuous programme by beatmatching the songs and creating seamless transitions at their beginnings and endings with fades or abrupt edits. Morgan King (born 28 March 1961) is an English singer, songwriter, record producer and photographer. Musical career Born in Spitalfields, London, King's musical career began in 1979 as drummer for Manchester band Illustration, who were subsequently signed by the indie label, "Some Bizzare" featuring on the Some Bizzare Album. After several years immersed in the UK indie scene, King's musical direction changed considerably with the advent of house music in the late 1980s. In 1988, King moved to Chicago and started writing with Kym Mazelle and Marshall Jefferson on Mazelle's first album, ''Crazy'', which was released the following year. Tilt (producers)
Tilt is an English group of electronic record producers, composed of Mick Park and Nic Britton. Tilt was formed in Coventry, England by Mick Park and Mick Wilson. In 1990, they became resident DJs at The Eclipse, which was the first legal all night rave dance venue in the United Kingdom. During their time at Eclipse, they DJ'd alongside Sasha, who inspired them to produce their own musical material. In 1993, they met with John Graham and formed Tilt. Engineered by Nic Britton at Bassroom/Midiroom Studios in Stoke-on-Trent, their first big hit single came in 1996 with "I Dream", released on Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Records. Tilt released several other singles such as "My Spirit", "Places", and "Butterfly", as well as "Rendezvous", which they recorded with Paul van Dyk. Thomas Brückner (born 12 June 1975), known by his stage name Tomcraft, is a German DJ and producer. He specializes in progressive house and progressive trance music and is better known for having created the tracks "Loneliness" and "Prosac", working alongside Eniac. Music career Tomcraft began working as a DJ in Munich in 1994, shifting between techno and the emerging progressive trance style. The following year, he released his first track, "This Is No House". He first met Eniac in 1996, and the two immediately started producing music together, beginning with "Viva". Ferry Corsten (; born 4 December 1973) is a Dutch disc jockey, record producer and remixer from Rotterdam. He is well known for producing many pioneering trance tracks during the 1990s–2000s under his numerous aliases, including System F, Moonman, Pulp Victim and Gouryella.
