The Government Radio Network (GRN) is a network of various systems in place across Australia that enable statewide trunked radio communication. The network operates through inter-linked sites for government and public services such as police, ambulance, fire, or roads authorities which require such a system to function properly. The main aim of the GRN is to consolidate all resources into one network, ensuring greater coverage and reliability than if each department had its own independent communication system. The existence of the GRN also reduces the amount of government money and resources needed to maintain communication between units of emergency and public service branches. Greensborough Railway Station
Greensborough railway station is located on the Hurstbridge line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the north-eastern Melbourne suburb of Greensborough, and it opened on 5 June 1902. Because of the curvature of the line, northbound (Hurstbridge) bound services head south-east upon departing the station and, likewise, southbound ( Flinders Street) bound services head north-west. After the station, Hurstbridge bound, the double track becomes single for the remainder of the line. A number of peak-hour services to and from Flinders Street terminate at Greensborough. Greenville And Northern Railway
The Greenville and Northern Railroad was a shortline railroad formerly operating between Travelers Rest and Greenville, South Carolina, . The railroad was part of the Pinsly Railroad Company after 1957 before being purchased by RailTex in 1997. Operations ended in February 1998 and the railroad was abandoned in 2005. History The Carolina, Knoxville and Western Railway completed construction of the railroad north out of Greenville in 1887, reaching Marietta in November 1888 and River Falls in March 1899. The railroad was not successful and was abandoned until 1904 when the Greenville and Knoxville Railroad was formed to reopen the line. In 1914 the railroad once again reorganized as the Greenville and Western Railroad, and rechartered as the Greenville and Northern in 1920. After being cut back to Travelers Rest the remaining line was purchased by the Pinsly Railroad Company in July 1957. Grindleford railway station serves the village of Grindleford in the Derbyshire Peak District, in England, although the station is about a mile way, the nearest village being Nether Padley. History It was opened in 1894 on the Midland Railway's Dore and Chinley line (now the Hope Valley Line), at the western entrance to the Totley Tunnel. The line opened up the previously isolated valley to day-trippers to Padley Gorge and commuters from Sheffield, and the transport of stone from the local quarries. Global Recordings Network (GRN) was founded by Joy Ridderhof in Los Angeles, California in 1939 as "Gospel Recordings." The mission of GRN is "In partnership with the church, to effectively communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ by means of culturally appropriate audio and audio-visual materials in every language." This is accomplished by recording the stories of the Bible in the native language or dialect, by a mother tongue speaker and providing them in an audio format to the community. Often the languages do not have a written form. GRN has recorded over 6,000 languages or dialects. GRN has offices in more than 20 countries. The language professor Alexander Arguelles notes that it is possible to use these recordings and the accompanying text in a language the learner knows, to start learning any of the languages. Granulin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''GRN'' gene. Each granulin protein is cleaved from the precursor progranulin, a 593 amino-acid-long and 68.5 kDa protein.
