GRMLN
Yoodoo Park, known by his stage name GRMLN, is a Japanese-American musician. Early life and career Park was born in Kyoto, Japan and raised in Southern California. Park started recording and producing music during his early years under the moniker GRMLN. Even though the project started off as an experiment for recording, Park's songs quickly picked up internet buzz, getting written up by many popular music blogs in the US and the UK, including DIY Magazine. (interview with Prefix Magazine) Park was signed to Carpark Records (Washington, D.C.) during his first year in college (at the age of 18) with the release of Park's first EP ''Explore''. Geographer (band)
Geographer is an American synth-pop/indie rock band founded in 2007 by Mike Deni in San Francisco, California, United States. Deni has described his sound as being "soulful music from outer space"; using analog, electronic and acoustic elements to craft dense layers and unique sound textures. As Geographer, Deni has released multiple albums, including ''Innocent Ghosts'' in 2008, ''Myth'' in 2012, and ''Ghost Modern'' in 2015; along with two EPs, ''Animal Shapes'' in 2010, ''Endless Motion'' in 2015; and a number of 7-inch singles including, "Kites" in 2010. Early history Deni relocated to San Francisco from New Jersey in 2005. Carpark Records is an independent record label based in Washington, D.C. History Carpark Records was established by Todd Hyman in 1999 in New York City. In 2005, the label relocated to Washington, D.C. Carpark has subsidiary labels. Acute Records, established in 2002, reissues obscure post-punk records under the guidance of Dan Selzer. Paw Tracks, established in 2003, releases music by Animal Collective and associated solo acts Avey Tare and Panda Bear Wax Nine is another partner label.
