GIFA Critics Best Actress Award
Global Indian Film Awards (GIFA) was an awards ceremony held between 2005 and 2007, conceptualized to acknowledge excellence in the Indian Film industry and honour artists in 28 categories across various genres, from acting to film making. It is held in a different country each year. 2005 in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur in 2006, and will be held in Chicago in 2013. Jury The jury members for the first awards were Aziz Mirza, Om Puri, Firoz Nadiadwala, Kabir Bedi, Bharti Pradhan, Umesh Mehra and Priti Hiranandani. The ceremony was organised at Dubai's Al-Wasi Stadium from 25 to 27 January 2005. A football match was also help between the Bollywood actors' team and UAE football team. The ceremony produced by Global Events, Dubai and is backed by Suniel Shetty, Chairman of Popcorn Entertainment. Shyam Benegal
Shyam Benegal (born 14 December 1934) is an Indian film director, screenwriter and documentary filmmaker. Often regarded as the pioneer of parallel cinema, he is widely considered as one of the greatest filmmakers post 1970s. He has received several accolades, including eighteen National Film Awards, a Filmfare Award and a Nandi Award. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (born 7 July 1963) is an Indian film director, occasional actor and screenwriter. He is best known for writing and directing ''Rang De Basanti'' (2006) and ''Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'' (2013). He is the writer and director of the films '' Aks'' (2001) and ''Delhi-6'' (2009). ''Lage Raho Munna Bhai'' (; ) is a 2006 Indian Hindi-language satirical comedy drama film written, edited and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, who co-wrote the screenplay with Abhijat Joshi and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
