GIBH
Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH), () affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is a government-sponsored scientific research institution with independent legal jurisdiction. GIBH was established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangdong Provincial Government and Guangzhou Municipal Government. The managerial mechanism of GIBH is the responsibility of Director-General, under the authority of the board of trustees. Duanqing Pei
Dr. Duanqing Pei is a research scientist who specializes in regenerative medicine. Originally from a small agricultural college in southern China, Dr. Pei went on to complete his graduate work at and obtained his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991. He then became a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan before becoming a faculty member at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in 1996. He joined the medical faculty at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China in 2002 and became the head of the pharmacology department soon after. In 2004, Dr. Pei moved to the newly formed Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health and took on the position of Deputy Director General. Lu Yongxiang (engineer)
Lu Yongxiang (; born April 28, 1942) is a Chinese mechanical engineer and politician. He served as President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress. Biography Lu studied in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University (ZJU), and majored in hydrodynamics (hydraulic mechanics). He graduated from ZJU in 1964, and became a lecturer in his department at ZJU. 1979, Lu was an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow at RWTH Aachen University, West Germany. Huang Huahua
Huang Huahua (born October 1946 in Xingning, Guangdong) is a retired Chinese politician, and the Governor of Guangdong between 2003 and 2011. Of Hakka heritage, he was once the mayor of Meizhou. Biography Huang was born in Xingning County, Guangdong. Huang graduated in mathematics from Sun Yat-sen University. Zhang Guangning (; born 1953 in Jiangsu) was the 14th Mayor of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, China, and later Party Secretary of Guangzhou.
