The Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly (GBA), formerly known as Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA), is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of Autonomous territory (de-facto Pakistani province) of Gilgit-Baltistan, which is located in Jutial neighbourhood in the city of Gilgit, the capital of Gilgit-Baltistan. It was established under the Gilgit-Baltistan Empowerment and Self-Governance Order in 2009 which granted the region self-rule and an elected legislative assembly having a total of 33 seats, with 24 general seats, 6 seats reserved for women and 3 reserved for Technocrats and Professionals. Skardu District
The Skardu District ( ur, ) is one of the 10 districts of Gilgit-Baltistan territory of Pakistan. The Skardu District is bounded on the east by the Ghanche District, on the south by the Kharmang District, on the west by the Astore District, on the north-west by the Rondu District and on the north by the Shigar district. The district headquarters is the town of Skardu, which is also the division headquarters. Wazir Muhammad Saleem is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly since November 2020. Political career Saleem contested the 2020 Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly election on 15 November 2020 from Constituency GBLA-9, GBA-9 (Skardu-III) as an Independent (politician), Independent candidate. He won the election by the margin of 1,099 votes over the runner up Fida Muhammad Nashad of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He garnered 6,286 votes while Nashad received 5,187 votes.
