The Fugang Fishery Harbor () is a harbor in Taitung City, Taitung County, Taiwan. Geography The harbor is located at Beinan Creek. Taitung City
Taitung City () is a county-administered city and the county seat of Taitung County, Taiwan. It lies on the southeast coast of Taiwan facing the Pacific Ocean. Taitung City is the most populous subdivision of Taitung County and it is one of the major cities on the east coast of the island. Taitung City is served by Taitung Airport. Taitung is a gateway to Green Island and Orchid Island, both of which are popular tourist destinations. Green Island, also known by other names, is a small volcanic island in the Pacific Ocean about off the eastern coast of Taiwan. It is at high tide and at low tide, making it the seventh-largest island in Taiwan Area. Nanliao Harbor
The Hsinchu Fish Harbor () or Nanliao Harbor () is a fishing port in North District, Hsinchu City, Taiwan. History The harbor was originally built in the 1980s to give conveniences to the local fishermen to catch fishes. However, due to the decreasing amount of fish load over the years, the old harbor was replaced by the new harbor buildings which is more tourism-focused. Activities The harbor is the center for seafood business. It houses the Hsinchu Fishermen's Association since 1991, which has since become an important place for local residence to buy seafood. The trading is housed in the Hsinchu Seafood Wholesale Center, a two-story building, in which the ground level houses the trading activities of seafood and the upper level houses the food market. Orchid Island, also known by other names, is a volcanic island off the southeastern coast of Taiwan Island. The island is part of Taiwan. It is separated from the Batanes of the Philippines by the Bashi Channel of the Luzon Strait. It is governed as of Taitung County, Taiwan, which also includes the nearby . Taitung Station
Taitung () is a railway station of Taiwan Railways Administration. It lies at the junction of the Hualien-Taitung line and the South-link line in Taitung City, Taitung County, Taiwan. History During the construction work of the back part of Taitung Station in 1980, a historic settlement area was discovered when graveyard containing several thousand slate coffins was unearthed, with some bodies still laid within. Around 20,000 pieces of jade, pottery and stone tools were also found. This had caught the attention of the government to carry out archaeological work and build a national museum to preserve the artifacts. The area officially opened in 1997 as the Beinan Cultural Park.
