French Rugby League Championship
The French rugby league championship (french: Le Championnat de France de Rugby à XIII) has been the major rugby league tournament for semi-professional and professional clubs in France since the sport was introduced to the country in the 1930s. Except for the first season, a play-off structure leading to a championship final has always been used to determine the fate of the championship. Because the French rugby league championship has several divisions where the teams will change each year depending on final standings and relegation/promotion there have been many teams in the French rugby league championship since its inception. Rugby league football, commonly known as just rugby league and sometimes football, footy, rugby or league, is a full-contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players on a rectangular field measuring 68 metres (75 yards) wide and 112–122 metres (122 to 133 yards) long with H shaped posts at both ends. It is one of the two codes of rugby football, the other being rugby union. Stade Albert Domec
Stade Albert Domec is a multi-use municipal stadium in Carcassonne, France. It has a capacity of 10,000 spectators. It is the home ground of Pro D2 rugby union club Union Sportive Carcassonnaise and Elite One Championship rugby league club Association Sportive de Carcassonne XIII. It is also used by the association football club Football Agglomération Carcassonne for their big matches. Built in 1899, it is one of the oldest stadiums in France, and was renovated in 2002, and again in 2012 when US Carcassonne entered the Pro D2. Saint-Estève XIII Catalan who were previously called Union Treiziste Catalane or UTC for short are a semi-professional rugby league team based in Perpignan in the region of Pyrénées-Orientales in the south of France. Founded in 2000 after a merger between AS Saint-Estève and XIII Catalan the club plays in the Elite One Championship which is the top tier rugby league competition in France. The Baroudeurs de Pia XIII, later known as the Pia Donkeys, are a French Rugby league team based in Pia, Pyrénées-Orientales in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Limoux (; oc, Limós ) is a commune and subprefecture in the Aude department, a part of the ancient Languedoc province and the present-day Occitanie region in southern France. Limoux Grizzlies
XIII Limouxin, also known as Limoux Grizzlies, are a semi-professional rugby league club from the town of Limoux in the Aude area in southern France. They play in the Elite One Championship. The club was formed in 1951. They have won the French rugby league championship three times and Lord Derby Cup on two occasions. The Stade de l'Aiguille is their home stadium. History On 22 October 1951 after a disagreement with the French rugby union the club switched codes and under the name Sporting Club Limoux XIII they entered the amateur Federal League. In the 1955–56 season they won the cup and were runners-up in the league. Stade Du Moulin
The Stade du Moulin is a rugby league stadium in Lézignan-Corbières, France. It is the home of Elite One Championship club FC Lézignan XIII. History Originally the land was a vineyard until bought by the club's chairman Gustave Gayraud in 1919. The name translates as Stadium of the Mill, because there were two mills on the land, the windmill is now just ruins while a watermill is still in use and situated behind the main stand. The first match was between FC Lezignan and Stade Toulousain in October 1919. The stadium is named after the French resistance fighter of the same name, Jean Moulin.
