Freddy Lim
Freddy Lim Tshiong-tso (; Tâi-lô: ''Lîm Tshióng-tsò''; born 1 February 1976) is a Taiwanese politician, musician, and independence activist. He is the lead vocalist of the Taiwanese heavy-metal band Chthonic. and the lead vocalist of the band started by him and American guitarist Marty Friedman. Lim served as chair of Amnesty International Taiwan from 2010 to 2014. He was one of the founding leaders of the New Power Party (NPP) in Taiwan and represented the party in the Legislative Yuan until 2019. Lim won a second legislative term as an independent in 2020. Early life and music career Lim was an ardent supporter of Chinese unification as a student, because he was taught from China-centric textbooks in middle school and high school. A diagnosis of anxiety in middle school made him ineligible for military duty. Formoz Festival
Formoz Festival () is a music festival in Taiwan. Started in 1995 with only ten participating bands, Formoz Festival plays an important role in the development of Taiwanese indie music and has now become a three-day event, attracting music fans from Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong. It is organized by the Taiwan Rock Alliance which is led by Freddy Lim. Lim's collective paid a large amount of money in that year for Megadeth, Biohazard, and Yo La Tengo to appear, and the 2001 Formoz Festival became the largest international music festival ever held in Taiwan. Before 2005, it had been fairly easy for concertgoers to sneak in for free. That year, the TRA increased the ticket price and made the entrance process more stringent, in hopes of breaking even. The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China (MND; ) is the ministry of the Republic of China (Taiwan) responsible for all defense and military affairs of Taiwan. The 1987 Lieyu massacre occurred on 7 March 1987, at Donggang Bay, Lieyu Island ("Lesser Kinmen" or "Little Quemoy"), Kinmen, Fujian, Republic of China. Trees Party
The Trees Party () is a minor political party in Taiwan. The core ideology of the party is environmentalism, and it is commonly identified as a "third force" party belonging to neither the Pan-Blue or Pan-Green Coalitions. The party was formed in 2014 as a splinter group of the Green Party Taiwan by brothers Pan Han-sheng and Pan Han-chiang. Democratic Progressive Party
The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is a Taiwanese nationalist and centre-left political party in the Republic of China (Taiwan). Controlling both the Republic of China presidency and the unicameral Legislative Yuan, it is the majority ruling party and the dominant party in the Pan-Green Coalition as of 2022. Founded in 1986 by Hsu Hsin-liang, Hsieh Tsung-min and Lin Shui-chuan, a year prior to the end of martial law, the DPP is one of two major parties in Taiwan, the other being the historically dominant Kuomintang (KMT), which previously ruled the country as a one-party state. Chiang Nai-shin
Chiang Nai-shin (; born 24 September 1948) is a Taiwanese politician. He served in the Taipei City Council from 1982 to 2009, when he was elected to the Legislative Yuan. Education Chiang attended Tatung University, where he earned a master's degree in business administration. Political career Chiang was elected to the Taipei City Council in 1981 and served until 2009. After Diane Lee resigned her legislative seat in January 2009, Chiang won a four-way primary held on 8 February to represent the Kuomintang in the resulting by-election. Daan District (or Da-an District, Da'an, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency District) is an important educational, commercial, residential and cultural district of Taipei City, Republic of China (Taiwan). The name of the district means "great safety" or "great peace".
