František Fuka
František Fuka (pronounced ) (October 9, 1968 in Prague) is a Czech computer programmer and musician. He currently works as a film translator, preparing English-language movies for Czech release. He is known also as a film critic, publicist and commentator. František Fuka is one of the pioneers of blogging in the Czech Republic. His website ''FFFilm'' gradually became one of the important sources among Czech film sites. The newspaper Lidové noviny ranked him among the top six influential personalities of the Czech internet in 2004. František Fuka is a member of one of the oldest-running Czech radio podcasts, ''Odvážné palce''. Games for ZX Spectrum Fuka has developed several video games for the ZX Spectrum with the Czechoslovakian programming group Golden Triangle. As a member of the group, he was introduced in 2016 to the Czech video game Hall of Fame. Tetris 2 (1990 Video Game)
Tetris 2 is a 1990 video game by František Fuka (Fuxoft). It is inspired by a Soviet game ''Tetris''. It is considered to be the most successful game developed by Fuka. Development The game was developed in 1990 by František Fuka. Fuka said in his interview for server ZX Spectrum Games that the development took only 14 days but in an interview with Jaroslav Švelch he admitted that it was possibly a little longer thanks to the longevity. Fuka created 90 levels to the game when he lost inspiration so he asked his friend Tomáš Rylek to make them. Rylek made 10 levels but their design was influenced by the fact that Rylek was drunk at that moment. Fuka decided to use all these levels with exception of one containing a rhombus. The game was betatested by Fuka and his friends including Tomáš Rylek and Miroslav Fídler. ''Jet-Story'' is a 1988 video game developed by Cybexlab Software and published by Ultrasoft. The game is the sequel to ''Planet of Shades''. Development Th game was developed in 1988. The Main Author is Miroslav Fídler who was helped by František Fuka and Tomáš Rylek. Fuka created opening Screen and Composed Music. In 1992 rights to the Game were bought by Ultrasoft that re-released the Game. Gameplay The player controls a spacecraft in a huge maze. His task is to destroy 47 enemy bases scattered across the game world that contains 128 areas. The task is not easy as the maze is full of enemies. The player can use weapons to destroy them but has limited amount of ammo. Ammo, fuel, and health can be replenished by boxes scattered throughout the world. The game features realistic gravity. Reception The game has been well received. Bit Magazine gave the game 84%. The game was praised mostly for its gameplay and music. The graphics didn't gain such praise due to its simplicity. ... ''Indiana Jones a Chrám zkázy'' (''Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom'') is a 1985 Czech text adventure game for ZX Spectrum computers and compatible hardware. It was authored by František Fuka. Two sequels were later produced entitled ''Indiana Jones II'' (1987) and ''Indiana Jones III'' (1990). The trilogy was later released in 1992 by Proxima Software as part of the Fuxoft brand "Fuxoft uvádí". A continuation of the series was seen with the 1990 release of ''Indiana Jones a zlatá soška Keltů'', programmed by Jiří Fencl. Fencl also wrote a text adventure named ''Tom Jones''. ''Poklad '' (English: ''Treasure'') is a 1984 Czech text adventure video game for the ZX Spectrum and compatible systems. it was authored by František Fuka as his first text video game. It was published by Proxima Software as part of their "Fuxoft uvádí" series. A newer version of the game (as opposed to a sequel) entitled ''Poklad 2'' was designed in 1985 and released in 1992. Plot The player finds themselves in a magical country and their task is to find five treasures. The game consists of a 4 x 5 room matrix in three levels. Development ''Poklad '' is one of the oldest surviving games created in Czechoslovakia. František Fuka had previously created several games on the VIC-20, however he would sell the computer along with its software to an unknown buyer, and those games would not survive.
