Francis Hamilton Stuart
Francis Hamilton Stuart (20 July 19121 February 2007) was a former Australian public servant and diplomat. Early life and education Stuart was born in Melbourne on 20 July 1912. His parents separated when he was 8 years old and he went to live in Sydney with his mother as a child. He later boarded at Geelong Grammar School and went on to higher education at Oxford University. Career He began his career in the 1930s as a consular officer in the British Legation in Bangkok. He shifted to the Australian Department of External Affairs in 1941. In 1942, he enlisted in the Australian Army to serve during World War II. Between 1964 and 1957 Stuart was chief of protocol in the external affairs department in Canberra. In May 1957, Stuart, along with his wife and children, left Canberra for Phnom Penh to take up his appointment as Australian Minister to Cambodia. Lew Border
Lewis Harold Border (16 April 192011 March 2011) was an Australian public servant and diplomat. From 1977 to 1980, Border was Australian High Commissioner to New Zealand. Life and career Lew Border was born on 16 April 1920 in Bundarra, New South Wales. He was the son of an Anglican clergyman, the Ven Archdeacon H. Border, of Gunnedah. The younger Border attended The Armidale School between 1934 and 1937, then University of Sydney at the New England College. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts. Border enlisted in the Australian Army on 22 August 1942 at the rank of Bombardier. He was discharged on 20 April 1945. After his military service, Border joined the Department of External Affairs in 1945. James Ingram (diplomat)
James Charles Ingram (born 27 February 1928) is a former Australian diplomat, philanthropist and author whose career culminated in his post as the eighth executive director of the World Food Programme (WFP), a position which he occupied for ten years. Education Ingram grew up in Melbourne, attending De La Salle College in Malvern having been awarded a Victorian Government Junior Scholarship. He won a Senior Government Scholarship to the University of Melbourne from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science. He undertook postgraduate studies at the Australian National University in Canberra in international relations. Noël St. Clair Deschamps (25 December 190812 May 2005) was an Australian public servant and diplomat. Early life and education Deschamps was born in Brisbane, the son of Jacqueline Hester née Irwin and Joseph Mark Deschamps. His paternal grandparents owned a vineyard. He was educated at Glamorgan Preparatory School in Toorak, Melbourne.
