The Frances Brodie Award was created in honour of Frances Brodie, who started the first World Women's Curling Championship in 1979, and also presided over the Ladies Committee of the International Curling Federation, now known as the World Curling Federation The World Curling Federation (WCF) is the world governing body for curling accreditation, with offices in Perth, Scotland. Dordi Nordby
Dordi Agate Nordby (born 8 April 1964 in Bærum) is a retired Norwegian curler from Snarøya. Nordby has amassed an array of medals in major international competitions over a career spanning three decades, including two world championship gold medals and two European championship gold medals. Career Having made her international debut for Norway as early as 1981, Nordby played for her country at the curling exhibition event in the Calgary Winter Olympics, where the team won a 'bronze medal' - which of course had no official status. She first won a medal at the world championships in 1989, playing third in the Norway team that finished as runners-up. Irene Schori
Irene Schori (born 4 December 1983) is a Swiss curler from Bremgarten. She currently plays third on Team Michèle Jäggi. Career Schori was named to the Swiss Olympic Team in 2010. She served as the alternate for Mirjam Ott's team in Vancouver. They just missed winning a medal, finishing fourth. Schori has participated in both the 2008 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, 2008 and the 2009 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, 2009 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships with partner Toni Müller, and has taken gold at both of these championships. Schori and Müller were the heavy favorites to win in the 2010 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, but were eliminated by the China in an extra end in the quarterfinals. Sanna Puustinen
Sanna Puustinen (born 24 March 1988; in marriage also known as Sanna Piilo) is a Finnish curler. Puustinen grew up in Hyvinkää but lives in Helsinki. Puustinen has represented Finland in four European Curling Championships. She was an alternate at her first European Championships in 2005. She didn't play in any games, and the team placed 10th. She played in 2011 European Curling Championships as fourth player with Heidi Hossi, and Eszter Juhász team skipped by Oona Kauste, and placed 12th (8-1 in the B Division). The team returned to the Euros at the 2013 European Curling Championships, with new lead Marjo Hipp. The team finished in 11th place, winning the B Division, and promoting Finland to the A Division of the 2014 European Curling Championships. Alison Kreviazuk
Alison Blair Kreviazuk (; born September 27, 1988) is a Canadian curler. Kreviazuk was born in Mississauga, Ontario, and grew up in the Nepean sector of Ottawa. She was the longtime second for the Rachel Homan rink, playing with her from 2002 to 2014. She currently serves as a national coach with the Swedish Curling Association. Career 2002 to 2014 Kreviazuk had been a member of the Homan rink from when it was formed in 2002, except some of the 2005–06 season and the 2009–10 season when she was too old to play for the team in some junior events, as she is a year older than Homan and her vice, Emma Miskew. Kreviazuk won three provincial Bantam titles as a member of the team, before she was too old to play at that level. The Homan rink would go on to win a fourth title without Kreviazuk. Eve Muirhead
Eve Muirhead (born 22 April 1990) is a Scottish former curler from Perth and the skip of the British Olympic Curling team. Muirhead and the GB team became Olympic champions at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, having previously won the bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. As skip of the Scotland team, Muirhead won the 2011 European Championships in Moscow, the 2013 World Championships in Riga, the 2017 European Championships in St. Gallen and the 2021 European Championships in Lillehammer. Linn Githmark
Linn Catharina Cavallius Githmark (born 26 September 1982) is a Norwegian curler who has skipped her country to a world junior title, and also played on the Norwegian team that won a silver medal at the world championships. Githmark played on the teams representing Norway in world junior championships from 1997 to 2004, and was skip on all but two occasions. She led her team to the gold medal in 2004. Githmark made her world championship debut in 2004, taking Hanne Woods' place as third on the team skipped by former world champion Dordi Nordby. Marianne Rørvik (born 2 August 1983) is a Norwegian curler from Oslo. She is the skip of the Norwegian national women's team. Rørvik has played in nine straight (1997–2005) World Junior Curling Championships, winning gold in 2004 playing third for Linn Githmark. Mirjam Ott (born 27 January 1972 in Bern, Switzerland) is a retired Swiss curler who lives in Laax, Switzerland. She is the 2012 World Curling Champion skip. She is the skip (captain) of the Swiss Olympic Curling Team. She has participated in several Olympic Games contests and has won numerous awards in many other curling events worldwide.
