Forestella (Korean: 포레스텔라) is a South Korean crossover male vocal quartet formed through the JTBC singing competition '' Phantom Singer 2'', which aired in 2017. They won first place on the show and officially debuted on March 14, 2018, with the album ''Evolution''. Since their debut, they have released another two studio albums and gained public recognition for their performances on '' Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend'', festivals and other televised concerts. Kang Hyung-ho
Kang Hyung-ho (born March 8, 1988 ), also known by his stage name PITTA, is a South Korean singer and member of the crossover quartet Forestella. A former chemical engineer, Kang had been an amateur singer and rose to fame after participating in the singing competition '' Phantom Singer 2''. Early life Kang is a native of Busan. He aspired to be a musician since childhood but his parents had been against it. Instead, he focused on his studies and was admitted to Pusan National University on a scholarship, eventually graduating with a degree in chemical engineering. After completing his mandatory military service and graduating from college, he worked for Lotte BP (now Lotte INEOS) in research and development. ''Hidden Singer'' () is a South Korean variety-music TV program broadcast on JTBC. The mechanics are a famous singer and several of their impersonators sing one measure of a song behind the blinds for four rounds. In the first three rounds, an audience of 100 people vote on the person who they think is not the real singer, the person with the most votes would be eliminated. Jo Mingyu, often spelled Cho Minkyu (born 19 November 1990) is a South Korean opera singer, the leader and '' leggero'' tenor of crossover vocal group Forestella. He was discovered during '' Phantom Singer 2'' , a televised talent reality show in 2017. Life and career Jo Mingyu was born in Taebaek, his mother was a kindergarten teacher, while his father taught at the Taebeak Mechanical Technical High School.
