For Tracy Hyde was a Japanese shoegaze band, formed in 2012. The group started as the solo project of Natsubot, real name Azusa Suga, before adding more members over time. At the time of its breakup, it consisted of guitarist Suga, singer and guitarist Eureka, bassist Mav, and drummer Sougou. The band's music was primarily written by Suga. The group was named after the song "Tracy Hide" by American band Wondermints. Suga was unaware of actress Tracy Hyde at the time. History 2010s The band released their debut album, "Film bleu", on December 2, 2016, through P-Vine Records. The album had two release parties, one in Tokyo and one in Osaka, featuring artists including dotstokyo, who the band has composed songs for. They released their next album, "he(r)art", under a year later on November 2, 2017. Also in 2017, the band was named as one of Space Shower's New Force artists. Themes The album was inspired by the unease and anxiety of living in a post-COVID world. The band cites shibuya-kei as a major influence on the album's sound. P-Vine Records is an independent record label based in Tokyo, Japan. History It was started in 1976 by Blues Interactions, a firm founded in 1975 by Yasufumi Higurashi and Akira Kochi, as a record label focused on black music. The label name comes from the "Peavine Branch" of the Mississippi Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad sung in blues songs by Charley Patton and Big Joe Williams. In the early years, the label focused on blues and R&B but gradually expanded to wider genres such as jazz, Latin, funk, j-pop, house music, and garage punk. Baybeats
Baybeats is an annual 3-day alternative music festival organized by Esplanade, and held in Singapore. It showcases various local acts such as regional and international artists. The festival is located at Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay and is 100% free and non-ticketed. The 3 main performing stages include the Baybeats Arena (Outdoor Theatre), Powerhouse Stage (The Edge) and the Chillout Stage (Concourse). Additionally, there is a series of magazine-style interview sessions at the Observation Deck (Library@Esplanade). Baybeats was launched in 2002 by John Chiong (WMUM) primarily to create a platform to showcase indie-rock musicians in Asia, especially local musicians, and to expose Singapore audiences to quality acts in the genre.
