Florcita Motuda
Raúl Florcita Alarcón Rojas (born 15 October 1945), popularly known as Florcita Motuda, is a Chilean musician and politician. He served as National Deputy in the Chamber of Deputies between March 2018 and March 2022, representing district 17. He was one of the most historical members of the Humanist Party. He is well known for his flamboyant style for clothing and musical work, even when serving as Deputy. He was part of numerous festivals, like Festival of Viña del Mar, Lollapalooza Chile and OTI Festival. Biography He was born in the city of Curicó, in the Maule region, in central Chile, to José Raúl Alarcón and Elsa Eliana Rojas Aliste on the 15th of October, 1945. He lived in a small nearby town, La Huerta de Mataquito, with his two parents and his aunts. At the age of 11, his father (an ex-laborer) died, as he himself points out, affected by meningitis caused by a tooth cavity. Curicó
Curicó (), meaning "Black Waters" in Mapudungun (originally meaning "Land of Black Water"), is the capital city of the Curicó Province, part of the Maule Region in Chile's central valley. The province lies between the provinces of Colchagua and Talca and extends from the Pacific to the Argentine frontier. Tomás René Hirsch Goldschmidt (born 19 July 1956) is a leftist Chilean politician and businessman. He was the Together We Can Do More pact candidate for the 2005 Chilean presidential election, winning 5.4% of the vote. Biography Hirsch was born in Santiago, Chile, to Jewish-German parents. His mother, Lysa Goldschmidt, arrived in Chile before World War II, while his father, Jorge Hirsch, arrived in the country escaping from German Nazi concentration camps. During his youth, Hirsch became interested in Silo, an Argentinian writer and leader of a movement that inspired the founders of the Humanist Party. In 1974 Hirsch began studying Industrial Civil Engineering at the University of Chile, but dropped out in 1978. Later he began working on his brother's photo company. The 1988 Chilean national plebiscite was a national referendum held on 5 October 1988 to determine whether Chile's ''de facto'' leader, Augusto Pinochet, should extend his rule for another eight years through 1996. The "No" side won with nearly 56% of the vote, indicating the end of Pinochet's fifteen and a half years in power. After democratic elections in 1989, a new government took power in 1990.
