Fishi Ha-Gadol
Adam Levinzon, (born in 1977 in Tel-Aviv, Israel), known better by his stage name as "The Big Fishi" (Fishy HaGadol, Fishi Hagadol - פישי הגדול) and "Adam Ben-Lavi," is a music producer and an Israeli rapper. Childhood Adam was born and raised in Tel-Aviv. When he was young he got interested in reggae music. He got his nickname "Fishi" by his friends in the neighborhood, because he was thin and wears glasses, and he looked like the character "Fishenzon" from the Israeli movie Alex Holeh Ahavah. Career Levinson was a popular rap singer in the 1990s and early 2000s. His early career was influenced by the reggae singer Nigel the Admor (Yehoshua Sofer). Adam became famous as a rapper after he participated in the big hit of the band Shabak Samech in the year 1997 that called "blow in the trumpet" in the album ''in a wrapper of a candy''. Shabak Samech
Shabak Samech (Hebrew: שבק"ס,שב"ק סמך) (aka Shabak S) is one of the first recognized hip-hop groups to come out of Israel. Their sound is primarily hip-hop, but it includes elements of rapcore, dancehall, ska, and funk. Their sound has been compared to the Beastie Boys, Ugly Duckling, Rage Against the Machine, Bionic Jive, Body Count, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimmy Cliff, Elephant Man, and more. The group had two and three vocalists (Fuck A and Miro being replaced by Nimi Nim for their second album, '' Be'atifa shel Mamatak''), two guitarists, a drummer and a bassist. In American radio, film, television, and video games, walla is a sound effect imitating the murmur of a crowd in the background. A group of actors brought together in the post-production stage of film production to create this murmur is known as a walla group. According to one story, walla received its name during the early days of radio, when it was discovered that having several people repeat the sound ''walla'' in the background was sufficient to mimic the indistinct chatter of a crowd. Teapacks
Teapacks (also known as Tipex) ( he, טיפקס) is an Israeli band that formed in 1988 as HaHotzaa La'Poal (Hebrew: , ''The Execution'') in the southern Israeli city of Sderot. Originally the band was named after the correction fluid Tipp-Ex, but in 1995 the transliteration was changed so as not to infringe on the well-known brand, while keeping the pronunciation and spelling in Hebrew the same. Each member of the band has a diverse background, and as a whole the band has Tunisian, Moroccan, Bulgarian, Romanian, Syrian, Polish, Russian, and Yemenite heritage. Teapacks gained popularity by bringing forward traditional Israeli-oriental music combined with light humorous hints. Kobi Oz ( he, קובי אוז, , born Ya'akov Uzan ( he, יעקב אוזן, ) on 17 September 1969) is the lead singer of Israeli group Teapacks. Biography Yaakov Uzan was born on 17 September 1969 in Sderot to Tunisian Jewish parents who moved to the British Mandate of Palestine in 1942 to escape the pro-nazi Vichy France regime. In 1985, Uzan adopted the stage name Kobi Oz and began playing music and composing. He started out playing keyboards for the band Sfatayim, which performed traditional Moroccan music. In 1988, Oz released two solo singles, "Silonim" (Jets) and "Lispor kvasim" (Counting Sheep), which didn't get much traction. "Lispor kvasim" would be revisited in 1992 for Teapacks' debut album, ''Shvil klipot hagarinim''.
