First Mind
''First Mind'' is the debut album by British singer-songwriter Nick Mulvey, and was released on 12 May 2014. Promotion In June 2013 Mulvey embarked on a 16-date tour, supporting Laura Marling on eight dates of her UK tour, and playing festivals including Glastonbury and Latitude. In December of that year Mulvey was nominated for the BBC Sound of 2014 award, eventually losing to fellow countryman Sam Smith. On 10 September 2014 ''First Mind'' was shortlisted for the 2014 Mercury Prize, alongside artists such as Damon Albarn, Bombay Bicycle Club and Kae Tempest. Nick Mulvey
Nick Mulvey (born 4 November 1984) is an English musician, singer and songwriter. He played the hang as a founding member of the band Portico Quartet. In 2011 started his career as a singer-songwriter releasing the EPs ''The Trellis'' (2012) and ''Fever to the Form'' (2013) and his studio album ''First Mind'' in 2014 which received a Mercury Music Prize nomination. His second album, ''Wake Up Now'', was released on 8 September 2017. Beginnings Mulvey grew up in Cambridge and attended Chesterton Community College and Long Road Sixth Form College. At the age of 19 he moved to Havana, Cuba, to study music and art. On returning to the UK, Mulvey enrolled at the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies to study Ethnomusicology. Bombay Bicycle Club
Bombay Bicycle Club are an English indie rock band from Crouch End, London, consisting of Jack Steadman, Jamie MacColl, Suren de Saram, and Ed Nash. They are guitar-fronted and have experimented with different genres, including folk, electronica, world music and indie rock. The band were given the opening slot on 2006's V Festival after winning a competition. They subsequently released two EPs and their debut single " Evening/Morning". Since then, the band has released five albums including '' So Long, See You Tomorrow'' which topped the album charts in February 2014. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. Kae Tempest (formerly Kate Tempest; born 22 December 1985) is an English spoken word performer, poet, recording artist, novelist and playwright. At the age of 16, Tempest was accepted into the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. In 2013, they won the Ted Hughes Award for their work ''Brand New Ancients''. They were named a Next Generation Poet by the Poetry Book Society, a once-a-decade accolade.
