First Aberdeen Bus Route 13
Route 13 is a bus route in Aberdeen operated by First Aberdeen. It operates at a 20 minute frequency at peak times. History In January 2016, branded ''Platinum'' buses were deployed on the route. They were the first in Aberdeen to include USB chargers. On 3 July 2022, the route was altered to use Links Road instead of Park Street and to call at the Beach Retail Park, following the rerouting of First Aberdeen bus route 15, route 15. The route was also extended during evenings and weekends to terminate at Hillhead Student Village, Hillhead of Seaton. Union Street is a major street and shopping thoroughfare in Aberdeen, Scotland. It is named after the Acts of Union 1800 with Ireland. Hillhead Student Village
Hillhead Student Village (formerly Hillhead Halls of Residence) is a group of buildings that provide accommodation for students at the University of Aberdeen. History Hillhead Halls was built in response to the post-war expansion of the university. The first phase of the Hillhead Halls of Residence was opened in 1968 and as a result this was the first year that the university could offer accommodation to every female applicant and a majority of male applicants. The previous year, five out of six applicants were refused. The first blocks to open were Adam-Smith House, Fyfe House, and Wavell House. When combined with the existing Crombie, Johnston, and Dunbar halls, the university had a total of 1168 places available. First Aberdeen Bus Route 15
Route 15 is a bus route in Aberdeen operated by First Aberdeen. It operates every half hour. History Route number 15 was formerly allocated to a route via Union Street, Aberdeen, Union Street between Aberdeen Beach and Queens Links, the beach and either Craigiebuckler or Airyhall. In July 2022, this route was withdrawn as part of a wider timetable change that saw a new route 15 introduced between Countesswells and Balnagask. The changes were met with criticism as it left Footdee without a bus service. The new route to Countssells was also criticised as local residents claimed that Countesswells Road is too narrow for buses to pass other vehicles safely. Footdee
Footdee (Scots: Fittie) is an area of Aberdeen, Scotland known locally by its Scots language name of Fittie. It is an old fishing village at the east end of Aberdeen Harbour. The name is actually folk etymology. Far from being "Foot of the Dee/Fit o the Dee", it is actually a corruption of a former dedication to a "St Fittick". It has also been referred to as Fort Dee. The area has had a settlement as far back as the Medieval times and the first recorded reference to the area of Fittie was in the year 1398. This village was slightly further North than where Footdee is now located. It would have been near to where the St Clement's Church is located.
