First Aberdeen Bus Route 15
Route 15 is a bus route in Aberdeen operated by First Aberdeen. It operates every half hour. History Route number 15 was formerly allocated to a route via Union Street, Aberdeen, Union Street between Aberdeen Beach and Queens Links, the beach and either Craigiebuckler or Airyhall. In July 2022, this route was withdrawn as part of a wider timetable change that saw a new route 15 introduced between Countesswells and Balnagask. The changes were met with criticism as it left Footdee without a bus service. The new route to Countssells was also criticised as local residents claimed that Countesswells Road is too narrow for buses to pass other vehicles safely. Countesswells
Countesswells is an area of Aberdeen, Scotland. Construction In 2014, planning permission was granted for 3,000 homes in the area. However, the development was initially delayed after the developers and land owners could not agree on the funding for schools and infrastructure. In April 2016, Stewart Milne Group stated that it expected to start work on the development immediately. By November 2021, 900 homes were either completed or under construction. Facilities An Aldi supermarket is expected to open in the area in July 2022. Transportation A bus route numbered 44, funded by the developers of Countesswells, began in 2019. It was operated by Stagecoach and ran half-hourly from Monday to Saturday between Countesswells and the park and ride at Kingswells. Balnagask
Balnagask is an area of Torry, a burgh of Aberdeen in Scotland. Balnagask is said to mean "the village in the hollow" in Gaelic. The Balnagask Estate stretched from the golf course to the fields that overlooked both the Bay of Nigg and the railway line. Aberdeen Beach And Queens Links
Aberdeen Beach and Queens Links is located in Aberdeen, Scotland. The beach itself is famous for its golden sand and its long curved length between Aberdeen Harbour and the River Don's mouth. The beach suffers from significant erosion of the sand so there are distinctive groyne or walls, to help keep the sand in place. The beach is popular with walkers, surfers and windsurfers. Recently in an expensive million pound operation, sand was taken by ship from further down the coast to the south of Aberdeen and sprayed on the beach to replace some of the lost sand. Rocks were then placed in a v-shape formation to try to prevent erosion, much like the groyne. The actual park area is called Queens Links and takes the form of a large grassy area parallel to the beach. Footdee
Footdee (Scots: Fittie) is an area of Aberdeen, Scotland known locally by its Scots language name of Fittie. It is an old fishing village at the east end of Aberdeen Harbour. The name is actually folk etymology. Far from being "Foot of the Dee/Fit o the Dee", it is actually a corruption of a former dedication to a "St Fittick". It has also been referred to as Fort Dee. The area has had a settlement as far back as the Medieval times and the first recorded reference to the area of Fittie was in the year 1398.
