The Finland national under-19 speedway team is the national under-19 motorcycle speedway team of Finland and is controlled by the Finnish Motorcycling Federation. The team was started in Team U-19 European Championship one time, but they do not qualify to the final. Finnish riders never won a medal in Individual U-19 European Championship. Motorcycle Speedway
Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Competitors use this surface to slide their machines sideways, powersliding or broadsiding into the bends. On the straight sections of the track, the motorcycles reach speeds of up to . 2009 Team Speedway Junior European Championship
The 2009 Team Speedway Junior European Championship will be the 2nd UEM Team Speedway Junior European Championship season. The Final will be held on August 23, 2009 in Holsted, Denmark. The championship was won by Poland (40 points), who they beat defending champion Sweden (38 points), host team Denmark (26 points) and Czech Republic (15 points) Results In the Final will be the defending Champions Sweden, host team Denmark (3rd place in 2008 Final) and Poland (4th place). Kalle Katajisto
Kalle Katajisto (born 24 April 1991) is a Finnish former motorcycle speedway rider. Career Katajisto was a member of the Finnish national team. He rode in the British leagues when he signed for Edinburgh Monarchs in 2007. He stayed with the Scottish club for four seasons leaving after the 2014 season. However, he was to return to Britain in 2013 and 2014 riding for the Plymouth Devils. In 2009, he won the bronze medal at the Finnish Individual Speedway Championship. Timo Lahti
Timo Lahti (born 16 July 1992) is a speedway rider from Finland. Career Lahti started his British career riding for the Eastbourne Eagles in 2011. He became the national champion of Finland after winning the Finnish Individual Speedway Championship in 2012. After a total of four seasons at Eastbourne he left after the 2014 season. He won a further five national championships from 2015 to 2019 consecutively before being deposed by Tero Aarnio. Before the 2017 win he had returned to British speedway by riding in the top tier for the Poole Pirates in the SGB Premiership 2017. In 2021, he regained his Finnish title which brought his total number of national titles to seven.
