Fiat Fiasa Engine
Designed by Aurelio Lampredi, the Fiasa engine first appeared in the Brazilian-built Fiat 147 in September 1976. The name Fiasa is a portmanteau of "Fiat Automóveis S.A.", for whom it was developed. The in-line four-cylinder engine has five main bearings, a cast iron block with an aluminium cylinder-head with belt-driven overhead camshafts actuating the valves. The engine remained in production until 2001 in Latin America, and also provided the basis for a diesel version (never sold in Brazil, where it was built, as that country did not allow diesel passenger cars). The Fiat Panda is a city car manufactured and marketed by Fiat since 1980, currently in its third generation. The Fiat Palio is a supermini car which was produced by the Italian manufacturer Fiat from 1996 until 2018. It is a world car, developed by Fiat Automóveis and aimed at developing countries. Fiat Duna
The Fiat Duna (Type 155) is a small car produced by Fiat in Argentina and Brazil, where it was sold as Fiat Prêmio. Launched in 1985 in Brazil, the Duna/Prêmio is based on the Brazilian Fiat Uno, but unlike the Uno, it was a two-door sedan. The range was expanded with a three-door estate in 1987 called the Fiat Elba (or Duna Weekend), a four-door sedan added in 1987 and a five-door estate in 1989. The car was sold mainly in South America. Production ended in 2000 and the Duna and Elba models were replaced by the Fiat Siena and the Fiat Palio Weekend. Fiat Panorama
The Fiat Panorama is a 3-door station wagon version of the Fiat 147, a subcompact car produced in South America by Italian automaker Fiat. The Panorama was built in Brazil and released in March 1980 as one of the first small station wagons to be produced there. The Panorama was phased out in 1986 to give its market to Elba/Duna Weekend. Some current cars available in that market were the Volkswagen Brasilia, Volkswagen Variant, Ford Belina and Chevrolet Caravan. Some time later, there were Chevrolet Marajó (end of 1980) and Volkswagen Parati (1982). The mechanicals of the 147 were adapted for a heavier weight. The Fiat Fiorino is a small commercial vehicle produced by the Italian car manufacturer Fiat since 1977. The Fiat Oggi (named after "today" in Italian) is a two-door sedan based on the Fiat 147, a subcompact car produced in South America by Italian automaker Fiat. The Oggi was produced in Brazil from 1983 until 1985, when it was replaced by the Uno-based Prêmio. This car was a response to the new sedans in the Brazilian market, the Chevrolet Monza, the Volkswagen Voyage and later the Ford Escort. Autobianchi Y10
The Autobianchi Y10 is a city car and economy car manufactured from 1985 to 1995 and marketed under the Lancia brand in most export markets (as Lancia Y10). The car was manufactured at Fiat's Autobianchi plant in Desio, Milan until 1992 and after that in Arese, near Alfa Romeo's plants. In addition to a relatively high level of trim for its market segment, the Y10 featured a new rear rigid axle suspension design (called Omega axle), subsequently shared with the facelifted Fiat Panda. The Y10 had a drag coefficient of just 0.31. Production totaled approximately 850,000 in the first seven years. Lancia remained in the segment with the similarly marketed Ypsilon.
