Albania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden, with the song "Fairytale" performed by Eneda Tarifa. Its selected entry was chosen through the national selection competition Festivali i Këngës organised by Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH) in December 2015. To this point, the nation had participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 12 times since its first entry in . Prior to the contest, the song was promoted by a music video and live performances in Israel, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Albania was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 12 May 2016. Festivali I Këngës
Festivali i Këngës (; ), also referred to as simply FiK, is an annual music competition in Albania organised by the national broadcaster Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH). Broadcast every year since its inauguration in 1962, it has also determined the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest since 2004. Various singing presentations have been used throughout its history, beginning with radio-only interpretations in the first few years, live performances, playback, remakes, and even duets featuring other singers. The winners have traditionally been selected by a jury. However, other voting methods have also been applied, such as televoting or regional juries. At times, the head juror has carried twice the voting power of other jurors. Pirro Çako
Pirro Çako is an Albanian singer and composer. In 1988, he won the Festivali i Këngës as a composer with the song ''E duam lumturinë'' ( en, We love happiness). The song was interpreted by Parashqevi Simaku. He has issued two albums: ''Herët a vonë'' ( en, Sooner or Later) in June 2004 and including 15 songs, and more recently, a second album, ''Mos më krahaso'' ( en, Don't Compare Me), a set of 12 songs. In a collaboration with composer Ardit Gjebrea, Çako wrote the song It's All About You ( sq, Nuk mundem pa ty), interpreted by Juliana Pasha for the Albanian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. Andri Xhahu (born 30 April 1987 in Tirana, Albania) is an Albanian television and radio presenter, host and editor, who works for RTSH. Since 2012, he has served as the Albanian commentator and spokesperson for the Eurovision Song Contest. Career Xhahu began his career in 2003 hosting "Koha tendencë" on Radio Koha. Soon afterwards, he moved to Radio Tirana. Adrian Lulgjuraj (born 19 August 1980) is a Montenegrin-born Albanian singer . Together with Bledar Sejko, he represented Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö with the song " Identitet". The song failed to qualify for the final.
