Fan Zhendong
Fan Zhendong (; born 22 January 1997) is a Chinese professional table tennis player who is currently ranked world No. 1 for men's singles by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). After joining the Chinese National Table Tennis Team in 2012 as the youngest member of the team, he went on to become the youngest ITTF World Tour Champion and the youngest World Table Tennis Champion. He achieved the top spot in the world rankings after holding position No. 2 for 29 consecutive months, starting from November 2015. Fan's attacking style of play involves explosive footwork and powerful forehand loops. His thick-set build has led fans and commentators to affectionately refer to him as "Little Fatty" (). His continuous rise to becoming one of the top table tennis players in the world has garnered him a large fanbase worldwide, with over half a million followers on Chinese social media site Weibo. Table tennis is unique among racket sports in that it supports a large variety of different styles of players. 2018 ITTF Team World Cup
The 2018 ITTF Team World Cup was a table tennis competition held at the Copper Box Arena in London from 22 to 25 February 2018. It was the 11th edition of the ITTF-sanctioned event, and the first time that it had been held in the United Kingdom. China won both events, defeating Japan in both the men's and women's team finals. 2019 World Table Tennis Championships – Mixed Doubles
The mixed doubles competition of the 2019 World Table Tennis Championships was held from 22 to 26 April 2019. Maharu Yoshimura and Kasumi Ishikawa were the defending champions. Ishikawa initially teamed up with Tomokazu Harimoto, but Harimoto was replaced by Yoshimura due to an injury. 2015 World Table Tennis Championships
The 2015 World Table Tennis Championships were held in Suzhou from 26 April to 3 May 2015. The Championship was staged in China for the fifth time and was the 53rd edition of the individual competition. The decision was announced by ITTF in March 2012. Suzhou became the first Chinese host city at prefecture level which had accumulated sufficient experience by hosting three China Open tournaments from 2009 through 2011. 2022 World Team Table Tennis Championships
The 2022 World Team Table Tennis Championships were held in Chengdu, China from 30 September to 9 October 2022. The World Team Championships were originally scheduled in April and pushed back to September due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Format The teams were drawn in groups of five teams in principle. After a round robin in each group, the top two teams in groups and the highest-ranked (world team ranking) third-placed teams qualified for a 16-team knockout stage. Two losing semi-finalists received bronze medals in the absence of a third-place match. Team match system A team consisted of three members playing best of five singles.
