FallCon
FallCon is the largest and only boardgame convention in Calgary, Alberta featuring a broad range of modern boardgames and miniatures. During the three day convention, attendees can learn new games by signing up for hosted game or check-out a game from the library in the open gaming session (ambassadors are available to make game recommendations or to help with rules / finding other players). The family friendly event also features a live auction Saturday night and a Flea Market Sunday morning. The 2017 event will be at SAIT. Formula D (originally published and still also known as Formula Dé) is a board game that recreates formula racing ( F1, CART, IRL). It was designed by Eric Randall and Laurent Lavaur and was originally published by Ludodélire. The rights to the game passed to EuroGames (owned by Descartes Editeur) with the collapse of Ludodélire, and were in turn acquired by Asmodée Éditions. When Asmodée released their new edition, the game's name was shortened to Formula D and its rules updated to include street and import racing. ''Wits & Wagers'' is a board game designed by Dominic Crapuchettes and Nate Heasley. It is published by North Star Games. The first edition of the game was published in 2005, and the second edition was released in 2007. The game is designed for 3 to 7 players or teams. The game is played in seven rounds. One trivia question is asked each round, and each player gives a numerical answer to every trivia question. Players simultaneously place their written answers to the trivia question on the betting mat, and then bet on the answer they believe is closest to the right answer but not over it. The house pays players who choose the correct answer based on the odds marked on the board. The player with the most chips after the seventh question is the winner.
