The British Flyweight Championship is a British flyweight professional wrestling championship currently defended in XWA. It was created in the Frontier Wrestling Alliance (FWA), a promotion that was closed in 2007. In 2009, FWA announced plans to reopen and initiate a Flyweight Championship tour; it is unknown how this will affect the status of the current British Flyweight Championship. XWA (professional Wrestling)
XWA is a British professional wrestling promotion, based in the English south east town of Sudbury, Suffolk, dealing primarily in the professional wrestling industry. The XWA was formed in March 2007, following the demise of the Frontier Wrestling Alliance, when Greg Lambert formed the new promotion from its ashes and continues to run quarterly events in Morecambe, using FWA titles, some former FWA talent and a lot of new, local, talent. Morecambe
Morecambe ( ) is a seaside town and civil parish in the City of Lancaster district in Lancashire, England. It is in Morecambe Bay on the Irish Sea. Name The first use of the name was by John Whitaker in his ''History of Manchester'' (1771), when he refers to the "æstury of Moricambe". It next appears four years later in ''Antiquities of Furness'', where the bay is described as "the Bay of Morecambe". Professional wrestling in the United Kingdom spans over one hundred years but became popular when the then new independent television network ITV began showing it in 1955, firstly on Saturday afternoons and then also in a late-night midweek slot. Benjamin Satterley (born 22 August 1986), better known by his ring name Pac, is an English professional wrestler. He is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he was the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion. Marty Scurll
Martin Scurll (born 26 July 1988) is an English professional wrestler. He is best known for his work in Ring of Honor (ROH) as the leader of the stable Villain Enterprises, where he was a one-time ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship and a one-time ROH World Television Champion, as well as being a former member of the Bullet Club stable. He also worked for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he is a former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion. The British Heavyweight Championship is a professional wrestling championship contested for in the XWA. The championship was originally created and contested for in the Frontier Wrestling Alliance (FWA) but moved to XWA when the former company became defunct. It has also been contested for in Ring of Honor (ROH) due to a working relationship between them and FWA. History The first Champion was Mark Sloan, who defeated Paul Glory in a tournament final on 11 July 1999.
