FIFA World Cup Official Songs
FIFA World Cup anthems and songs are tunes and songs adopted officially by FIFA (or by official broadcasters and partners selected by FIFA), to be used prior to the World Cup event and to accompany the championships during the event. They are also used in advertising campaigns for the World Cup. They are used as theme music in TV broadcast and also used in advertising campaigns for the World Cup. Some songs and anthems are more popular and famous than official songs and anthems. The chosen songs are usually multilingual and include English, the official language of the organizing country, languages of certain FIFA Partners regions and/or other languages. The main versions also result in cover versions in many other languages performed by the original or by local artists. "Anthem" by Vangelis is the theme music for 2002 FIFA World Cup held in South Korea and Japan and served as the official anthem of the 2002 FIFA World Cup. The single was commercially successful in Japan, being certified platinum for sales of over 100,000 copies. The single reached number 98 on the UK Singles Chart. Park Jung-hyun (; born March 23, 1976), also known as Lena Park (), is an American-born South Korean singer who debuted in 1998 with the album, ''Piece.'' She is also widely known in South Korea as her nickname "National fairy" due to her petite body and powerful singing voice. Let's Get Together Now
Let's Get Together Now is the official local song of the 2002 FIFA World Cup held in South Korea and Japan. Performed by the Supergroup Voice of Korea/Japan (Lena Park and Brown Eyes from South Korea and Sowelu and Chemistry from Japan), it was released in three separate versions: a full Japanese version, a full Korean version (with some English at the end), and a merged version which combines the lyrics of the two versions. The last of the three was included in the official soundtrack album and was performed in the opening ceremonies in Seoul on May 31, 2002. Composed by Daisuke Kawaguchi and Kim Hyung-Suk and written by Yoshimitsu Sawamoto, Kiyoshi Matsuo, Park, and Kim, the lyrics tell spirit of gathering and coming together as one, as with the theme of the two countries in co-hosting the said event.
