Führer Ex
Führer Ex is a German neo-nazi drama film directed by Winfried Bonengel and based on the autobiographical book ''Die Abrechnung'' by Ingo Hasselbach. It was entered into the 59th Venice International Film Festival. Plot Hacky friends Heiko and Tommy dream of escaping from communist Berlin that has become disgusting to them. Attempting to cross the border leads them to jail. In contrast to the sluggish and closed Heiko, the experienced and courageous Tommy is already familiar with the harsh orders of the model prisons of the GDR, where neo-Nazi groups are in charge. Caught in this hell, where only the snitches and mad beasts survive, Heiko escapes, enlisting the friendship of a local fascist leader, and Tommy decides to desperately escape. They were destined to see each other only four years later, in Berlin, where Heiko, who became a staunch Nazi, commanded a team of skinheads who had left the underground after the fall of the Wall. Ingo Hasselbach
Ingo Hasselbach (born 14 July 1967 in Berlin-Weißensee) is a German well known for being a former neo-Nazi. He is the author of the book ''Führer Ex: Memoirs of a Former Neo-Nazi'' (with Tom Reiss), also made into a movie directed by Winfried Bonengel, which has been translated into several languages. Furthermore he was co-founder of the German EXIT project, which helps people leave the neo-Nazi community. The project is modeled on a Swedish project with the same name. Hasselbach's parents were two Communist-party loyal journalists. His mother was an editor at the ADN ("Allgemeiner Deutscher Nachrichtendienst", the former GDR's news service), while his father was employed at the broadcasting service in East Berlin. He was raised mostly with his grandparents. After graduating he began an apprenticeship to become a stonemason, but by 1985 he was subjected to legal censure because of rowdyism. Harry Baer (born Harry Zöttl on 27 September 1947) is a German actor, producer and author, best known for his work with director Rainer Werner Fassbinder. He has also been credited as Harry Bär. Matthias Freihof (born 25 November 1961) is a German television actor and director. He has performed in many TV films and series including police drama Siska for 5 years. but also works on live stage performing as an actor and a singer.
