Fyodor Panayev
Fyodor Nikolayevich Panayev (russian: Фёдор Никола́евич Пана́ев, 1856—1933) was a Russian teacher and climatologist, the author of a number of books on climatology and one of the founders of Perm Zoo. Fyodor Panayev was born in 1856 in the settlement of Yug, in the Permsky Uyezd of the Perm Governorate of the Russian Empire. He graduated from Perm Uyezd College and worked as a teacher in Shadrinsk and in Solikamsk Parish College (1878—1891). In Solikamsk he studied the local folklore and published several papers in "Proceedings of Ural Society of natural science fans" (russian: "Записки Уральского Общества Любителей Естествознания"). Yug (russian: Юг) is a rural locality (a settlement) and the administrative center of Yugovskoye Rural Settlement, Permsky District, Perm Krai, Russia. The population was 2,687 as of 2010. Yegoshikha Cemetery
Yegoshikha Cemetery (russian: Егошихинское кладбище, Yegoshikhinskoye kladbishche) is the principal cemetery of the Russian city of Perm. It takes its name from the Yegoshikha River which borders it and was founded in the second half of the 18th century. In 1784, the governor of Perm and Tobolsk, Eugene Kashkin, ordered the construction of a church for burying the dead. Near the first church at the cemetery, two more were built later: the Church of All Saints and the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin. In the 1930s, executed political prisoners used to be buried in the cemetery. In 1996, the Perm branch of Memorial erected a monument to the victims of the Great Purge. The installation of the monument was sponsored by donations from Perm residents and the city and regional administrations.
