Fyn (Folketing Constituency)
Funen ( da, Fyn) is one of the 12 multi-member constituencies of the Folketing, the national legislature of Denmark. The constituency was established in 2007 following the public administration structural reform. It consists of the municipalities of Ærø, Assens, Faaborg-Midtfyn, Kerteminde, Langeland, Middelfart, Nordfyn, Nyborg, Odense and Svendborg. The constituency currently elects 12 of the 179 members of the Folketing using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2019 general election it had 374,322 registered electors. Folketing
The Folketing ( da, Folketinget, ; ), also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English, is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark—Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849, until 1953 the Folketing was the lower house of a bicameral parliament, called the Rigsdag; the upper house was Landstinget. It meets in Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen. The Folketing passes all laws, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. It is also responsible for adopting the state's budgets and approving the state's accounts. As set out in the Constitution of Denmark, the Folketing shares power with the reigning monarch. Marlene Ambo-Rasmussen (born 14 March 1986 in Magleby on Langeland) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Venstre political party. She has a background as a disability assistant. She was elected into parliament in the 2019 Danish general election. Mai Mercado
Mai Mercado (born 20 August 1980 in Tønder) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Conservative People's Party. She was elected at the 2011 Danish general election. From 2016 to 2019 she was the Minister for Children and Social Affairs in the Lars Løkke Rasmussen III Cabinet. Political career Mercado was a member of the municipal council of Odense Municipality from 2006 to 2011, and served as the second deputy mayor from 2009 to 2011. Dan Jannik Jørgensen (born 12 June 1975) is a Danish politician of the Social Democrats who is has been serving as Ministry for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy in the government of Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen since 2022. Jan Johansen (born 12 December 1955 in Svendborg) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Social Democrats political party. He was elected into parliament at the 2011 Danish general election. Political career Johansen sat in the municipal council of Munkebo Municipality from 1997 to 2006, and served as deputy mayor from 2001 to 2006. The Green Left ( da, Socialistisk Folkeparti, SF) is a democratic socialist political party in Denmark. It was formerly known in English as the Socialist People's Party, the literal translation of its Danish name. History 1959–1969 The SF was founded on 15 February 1959 by Aksel Larsen, a former leader of the Communist Party of Denmark (DKP). Larsen was removed from the ranks of the DKP for his criticism over the Soviet intervention in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Larsen and the new SF sought to form a third way between Denmark's United States-oriented social democracy and Soviet Union–oriented communism, which sought to combine democracy with socialism. Karsten Hønge (born 25 September 1958 in Nykøbing Mors) is a Danish politician, who is member of the Folketing for the Socialist People's Party. Jane Vallebo Thorngaard Heitmann (born 5 November 1968 in Copenhagen) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Venstre political party. The Social Democrats ( da, Socialdemokraterne, ) is a social democratic political party in Denmark.
