Karsten Hønge
Karsten Hønge (born 25 September 1958 in Nykøbing Mors) is a Danish politician, who is member of the Folketing for the Socialist People's Party. Karsten Hønge is one of few people who has both been elected to city councils, county councils, regional council, Folketing, and the European Parliament. Political career He joined SF and its youth wing SFU in 1973. He was a member of the national leadership of SFU in 1974-1977. He was politically active during his time at Thisted Gymnasium, and from 1977 to 1978 vice-chairman in ''Danske Gymnasieelevers Sammenslutning'', the Danish association of gymnasium students. From 1978 to 1979, Hønge was a soldier at Skive Garrison, he was a member of the executive committee for the conscripts. Folketing
The Folketing ( da, Folketinget, ; ), also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English, is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark—Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849, until 1953 the Folketing was the lower house of a bicameral parliament, called the Rigsdag; the upper house was Landstinget. It meets in Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen. The Folketing passes all laws, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. It is also responsible for adopting the state's budgets and approving the state's accounts. As set out in the Constitution of Denmark, the Folketing shares power with the reigning monarch. Kira Marie Peter-Hansen (born 23 February 1998) is a Danish politician. She is a Socialist People's Party (part of the Greens–European Free Alliance group) Member of the European Parliament (MEP) elected in the 2019 European parliamentary election. Margrete Auken
Margrete Helle Auken (born 6 January 1945) is a Danish politician who has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) since 2004. She is a member of the Socialistisk Folkeparti, part of the European Green Party. She was also formerly a Member of the Folketing. Auken was educated at the University of Copenhagen and is a ''sognepræst'' (parish priest) at the Frederiksberg Church in the Church of Denmark. The 2019 European Parliament election in Denmark was held on 26 May 2019, and elected the Danish members to the European Parliament. The elections are part of the EU-wide elections for the parliament. Denmark has 13 seats in parliament, and which will be increased by one additional seat, once Brexit comes into force. Venstre won the election, becoming the biggest party and gaining two seats. The election was a disaster for the Danish People's Party, who lost three of their four seats. Both the Social People's Party and the Social Liberals won doubles their seats from one to two. General elections were held in the Kingdom of Denmark on 5 June 2019 to elect all 179 members of the Folketing; 175 in Denmark proper, two in the Faroe Islands and two in Greenland. The elections took place ten days after the European Parliament elections.
